Assistant coaches without roles

A simple question I suppose: Do assistant coaches that don't have assigned roles (e.g. goalie coach, skills coach) still have an impact on player development?

Definitely, particularly if they're rated highly in categories that specifically affect the player or skill type.

What about coaches in otehr asigned roles? Does my goalie coach affect the offense for example?

If he happens to have much better offensive ratings than the other coaches (unlikely), he will. Otherwise, no.

So My offenisve coach is "very good" on defensive training, and my defensive coach is "good". My goalie coach is "poor" So how good are my players at developing their defensive skills.

I found FHM2's system very confusing. I thought that FHM 3 just used 1 coach for each category, but now I don't know.

Do the Assistant Coaches even need to be slotted into to roles, or do they receive bonuses for being in a roll they they excel at?

Can an assistant coach influence more than one category?

Let's say your Goalie coach is very good at coaching Goalies, Offense and Defense while your other coaches are at most only Good i.e.your Goalie coach is better than all your other coaches in all the categories of coaching.
(I know it's unlikely but I'm only using it for an example).

Does your Goalie coach's higher ability affect and supersede all the other coaches?

Would your Goalie coach become the main contributor to Offense and Defense player development, or a major influence or a minor influence or none?

Assistants can influence more than one category. A high skill level won't affect/supersede the contribution of other coaches, just add to them, but the exact percentage amount of his overall contribution to the coach bonus to development would depend on the ratings of all the coaches involved.
