Statslab upload procedure question
Checking to see if any experienced statslab admins can help me out:
When i create the SQL dump in the game...its goes into a certain folder. I take those files and FTP the files to the SQL dump folder on my webserver....which is will load via the admin screen. I am on the second time ever on FTPing files to the SQL dump folder...and I started to wonder...do the files that are already in that folder from the 1st dump need to be deleted 1st..or do the files overwrite when you ftp them the second time? The question is based on how big that Statslab SQL Dump folder can actually get. Sorry if i am being confusing....though im a bit confuesed myself. |

Good question almo. I deleted them the first 50 or so times I did it and finally wondered the same. As Cooley suggested, overwriting works just fine. I'm glad you figured it out faster than I did

Thank you boys!! Thats very good to know. I am sweating the small stuff obviously .
I actually have 2 secondary questions related to the statslab upload process: 1. When i look at the export tab I get a SQL error: ERROR: No League File Found at: "game/lgfile/Fanatic Baseball League.lg.tar.gz" My league file zipped is called "game/lgfile/Fanatic Baseball League.tar.gz" all of my gms have been able to access and export...and i am able to see it in the game...but...I am not sure how to get the ".lg" into that line (other than physically changing the file name structure of the league file on my webserver. 2a. When i look at the draft page...i get this sql error (but it still lists the order of the draft and all: Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/fanatic/public_html/StatsLab/draftReport.php on line 189 Not sure what this is 2b. I am having an inagural draft to kick off the league...unfortunatley...the draft will be 125 rounds long (though i expect gms to click on auto pick somewhere after the 25th round).....the one thing i am seeing is that somewhere in the 46th round (after 45 rounds of serpentine)...it moves in another order. I mean I can call it after the 45th round if need be and just perform the auto pick in the actual game (or i can set it up for a 45 round draft and such..and do the rest in the game)...but wondering if there is a limit to how many rounds can be held in serpantine fashion...or if i am doing something wrong. Again..sorry for the questions...but i am learning this all from the ground up. Maybe one day i can be a statslab resource (i feel like statslab is like a college course ..... and technically, i asked 3 questions. Any help i get is much appreciated!!! :P Last edited by almo; 10-10-2011 at 12:02 PM. |

No matter what I change those setting to in the admin page..it still comes up with the same error. Actually in Fidel's video...he gets the same error when he goes on the export link.

try the below and the "X" are just marking out my path 1. Export Tracker Settings League Name: Fanatic Baseball League.tar.gz League File Path: /home/fanatic/public_html/game/lgfile Export File Path: /home/fanatic/public_html/xxx/xxx 2A. id need to see ur admin page 2B. i dont suggest doing that many rds in statslab i suggest maybe 10-20 then have them submit in game draft list thu the game for the remainder of the draft . statslab i dont think can handle 125 rds i may be wrong on that but i wouldnt do it

The files have the same names so your ftp application should ask if you want to overwrite the existing files. Filezilla does so.
Using filezilla as an example you would check the box to say overwrite and apply this to every file in this upload. The upload should then continue file by file, replacing the previous ones. Hope that helps. Dave
