OOTP8 Online League Help

Hey I am trying to do an online league with OOTP8. How do I get a page like in OOTPX where you can view the rosters on a website and how do you get a league file out? Any help would be appreciated. I know how to work a league cause I have been in a few. It is just those 2 things. Please and Thank you.

These pages are from the OOTP9 manual, but it should be fairly similar in OOTP8:

OOTP Baseball Manual - Uploading League Files
OOTP Baseball Manual - Generating and Uploading Reports

Notice the index on the left of those pages where you can read more.

The one thing I'd highly recommend is to upload an archive of the reports and then unzip it using your website's cpanel file manager since that will be far faster than having OOTP upload each individual reports file.

Once you at least get it working you might want to try ftping outside of OOTP using an ftp client like FileZilla as it should be better in a number of ways.

A port is like a door into your house, but it's a door into your internet connection. You can lock the door so it doesn't get used, you can give certain people (programs) keys to certain doors so only they can use them, or you can leave your door unlocked for anyone. You shouldn't have to worry about the port as it's usually something generic like port 21.

I'm not sure what you're referring to with "4o", but yes, in this sense host is somewhat like your domain name. For example, ours is corporatebaseball.com. Now that's not the exact web address of our site, but it is our ftp address. The company you get your webspace from should be able to tell you what your host address is.

As far as I know, invisionfree is not a webhost, only a forum package that you can install on your site like phpbb3 or the one OOTP uses here, vBulletin. A forum is very different from your actual webhost or webspace. If you need a webhost/webspace, read the Webhosts Info sticky.

If you want some free webspace that can handle an OOTP league, however, I think you'll have some difficulty finding it. You do have some cheap or free options though.
