Record: 52-39, 1st, 3 GA Quad City
Justin Wrobelski and a pair of relievers combined on a four-hit shutout as Milwaukee downed St. Louis 4-0 in the opening game of a doubleheader at Milwaukee County Stadium (1976).
The game was a makeup of a contest originally scheduled to be played in St. Louis

Seth Lugo took care of the seventh and eighth innings.
The ninth belonged to Sam Stoutenbouough.
The Keg Lifters got the only run they would need in the top of the opening inning when Sammy Siani led off with a triple off Walkers starter Jimmy Lambert and scored on a one-out sacrifice fly from Brett Baty.

Walkers news: July 20 -- Milwaukee 5, St. Louis 3, Game 2

Record: 52-40, 1st, 2.5 GA Quad City
Milwaukee built a 5-0 lead against St. Louis rookie Ricky Cisneros and then held on over the final innings for a 5-3 win and a doubleheader sweep at Milwaukee County Stadium (1977).
Making his first major league start, Ciseneros did well enough over the first five innings, allowing just two runs.
A Reynel Delgado with an RBI groundout and Landon Grey with an RBI single in the bottom of the second inning as the Keg Lifters grabbed a 2-0 lead.
But when they let Ciseneros go out there for the sixth inning, it cost the River Walkers.
Milwaukee put together four hits which led to three runs, as St. Louis seemed reluctant to go to its bullpen due to the doubleheader and some recent long game which had its bullpen fatigued.
Alec Bohm led off the inning with a single and scored when Clint Frazier tripled.
Raynel Delgado plated Frazier with a sacrifice fly.
Sammy Siani drove in the final two runs with a two-out single.
The Walkers did get back into it with a three-run top of the seventh -- the big blow a two-run homer from JT Schwartz off Milwaukee starter Ryan Crook.
But St. Louis would get no closer.
Crook (8-6) allowed three runs on three hits over 6.2 innings.
Juan Hillman finished the seventh worked a quiet eighth.
Daniel Espino pitched around a single in the ninth for his 13th save.

Record: 52-42, 1st, 1.5 GA Quad City
Milwaukee cranked out five home runs -- four of them off St. Louis starting pitcher Argenis Batista -- to power it to a 7-3 win and a four-game sweep of their series at Milwaukee County Stadium (1976).
An RBI single from Jared Thomas off Keg Lifters starter Brendan McKay in the top of the second inning actually staked the River Walkers to a 1-0 lead.
By the bottom of the third that lead was gone -- thanks to back-to-back homers from Xander Bogaerts (a two-run shot) and Brett Baty (solo homer) as Milwaukee went up 3-1.
The Lifters doubled their run total in the sixth, again with pair of homers of Batista.
Alec Bohm connected for the first, again a two-run homer.
Clint Frazier then supplied a solo shot.
A two-run homer from Fernando Tatis off reliever Juan Hillman made it 6-3 in the seventh.
Baty capped the scoring with his second homer of the game, leading off the eighth off reliever Tim Hill.
McKay (9-7) took care of the first 5.1 innings, allowing one run on three hits. He struck out four and walked none.
Hillman finished the sixth and allowed the two-run homer from Tatis in the seventh.
The eighth belonged to Antonio Santillan and the ninth to Jason Johnson, as the score remained at 7-3.

Walkers news: St. Louis trades reliever Hill to Columbus for outfielder

The St. Louis River Walkers have traded 36-year-old left-hander reliever Tim Hill to the Columbus Golden Bears outfielder DaShawn Keirsey Jr.
It's been a rough season for Hill, who is 2-1 with a 6.35 ERA in 38 games. He also has announced his intention to retire after the season.
In Keirsey, the Walkers get a 29-year-old outfielder who has batted .351 with one homer and four RBIs in 26 games with the Golden Bears.
He has been assigned to AAA Memphis.
The trade of Hill, means that Argenis Batista will be moved back to the River Walkers bullpen and that Ardonis Medina will return to the rotation after two weeks on the injured list with an obilique strain.
Medina, 29, is 6-6 this season in 17 starts. He owns a 3.09 ERA.

Madison jumped out to a 4-0 lead and held on to defeat St. Louis 6-4 at Busch Stadium (1997).
An RBI-single from Francisco Lindor off River Walkers starting pitcher Adonis Medina in the top of the fourth staked the Muskies to a 1-0 lead.

Luis Palomo took the ball for the Walkers.
But he was greeted by an Ian Moller single, extending the Madison lead to 4-0.
An RBI single from Andrew Benintendi in the seventh got the Walkers on the board at 4-1.
The Muskies, however, got it back when Senzel doubled off relievr John Curtiss and scored when Kristian Robinson singled off Edwin Diaz.
The Walkers really made it interesting with a three-run eighth.
Jared Thomas led off the inning with a homer off Mauricio Cabrera.
Bo Bichette later contributed a run-scoring single.
Another run scored on a passed ball to make it 5-4.
That advantage grew back to two in the ninth, as Maitan greeted Jake Brentz with a homer to open the inning.
That was it, as Felipe Vazquez sent the Walkers down in order in the ninth to end it.

Walkers news: July 26 -- St. Louis 4, Madison 3, Game 2

Record: 54-43, 1st, 4 GA Springfield and Quad City
For the second straight game, St. Louis jumped out to a lead and held on for a 4-3 victory over Madison to complete a doubleheader sweep at Busch Stadium (1997).
The victory also gave the River Walkers wins in the final two games of the three-game series.
Fernando Tatis Jr. staked St. Louis to a lead it would not relinquish with a solo homer off Muskies starting pitcher Kirby McIntyre in the bottom of the second inning.
That lead grew to 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth.
McIntryre walked two of the inning's first three batters before surrendering an RBI double to Edmond Americaan.
Two batters later, Steven Brault drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 3-0.
The Walkers got their fourth run in the sixth, a walk again played into it as Tatis Jr. drew a free pass from Juan Jose Teixeira to open the inning.
A bunt from Americaan moved him to second and a passed ball placed Tatis Jr. on third.
Austin Hedges chased him home with a single.
That run proved important when Taylor Trammell clubbed a two-run homer off Brault in the seventh to make it 4-3.
But the St. Louis bullpen closed it out.
Angel Tiburcio retired six straight batters to get the game to the ninth.
Jake Brentz did the rest to earn his sixth save.
Brault worked six innings, allowing three runs on three hits. He struck out five and walked one.
