take pitch

While playing the game, when do use "take pitch"? I just do not get why would you use this. Please help me or point me in the right direction so i can get the best out of this game.But I will say this is the very best game I have ever played. It really brings me back to the best time in my life while growing up.

I like to take pitch with a runner on 1st when there are less than 2 outs as I decide whether or not to steal.

I also do it when the pitcher is wild or is losing control to try and get a walk
