Am I right or wrong?

I play in commish mode. My reason for that is so I don't get fired. It's terrible to have a "5-year" plan and to be sacked in the 3rd year. I want to lead my team to the top or to the bottom. It seems to me that only commish mode lets me be "unfired".

Now, if I play in commish mode it seems financials don't affect me. I can sign players way over by budget and the computer doesn't seem to blink.

Am I correct or crazy? If crazy, please tell me the errors of my ways. If I'm right, is there a way to make sure I don't get fired and financials work for me just like other times.

Many thanks in advance.

Manager Settings> Cannot Be Fired

You can check that box? It's right by "Commissioner Mode"

I wouldn't say crazy at all. Maybe way too dramatic, but not crazy.

Thank you. Am I right about finances for commissioners in commish mode not having any effect?

Thanks.

Commish overrides LOTS of stuff, so if all you really want is to not get fired, unclick Commish and click 'can't be fired'.

Playing in Commish mode does not itself keep you from getting fired.

Playing in Commish mode does not keep you from playing within your budget.

I am always playing in Commish mode.

If you are forcing trades and/or assigning yourself players/personnel, I can see how the budget could become irrelevant. However, I have no personal experience to verify that.

I don't force trades or force anything except sometimes I take money away from me and make the owner the meanest penny-pinching S.O.B. I can. I still never run out of money while most of the other teams can't do things because they are in the red. I'm in the red but if I want to offer Mario Mendoza a $100,000,000 contract then no worries, I break through the Mendoza line.

It's strange you don't have the same problem so I'm assuming I'm doing something that I don't realize I'm doing.

No, he is mistaken, not you. In commissioner mode you are not restrained by your budget.

I thought he was mistaken but I now opt for the kinder, gentler approach. You must watch your words carefully on a forum if you want to get along.

So damnit Janet, I'm a nice guy now.
