Update on iOOTP 2012

Update is indeed out. All looks good. Of course it's so 'old' line-ups have to be adjusted. But that's no biggie. Glad to just have players available that should be.

Thanks again Sabastian for all your and Markus and Adreas hard, AND continual work. We all appreciate.

I thought a little more about the next update today and here are a few things I would like to add:

- city randomizer (nothing that takes long)
- team/roster info before game start (mostly interesting for fictional leagues)
- some sort of development report
- look into different ballpark pics
- look into a possible game report
- I still have Twitter support on my list

As always bug fixes and roster updates.

Here's my shortlist

- Career leaderboards
- Career listing (by year) of MVPs, best pitchers, rookie of the year
- Ability to edit stadium names
- Ability to edit playoff round names (eg, "World Series" instead of Round 3)

Basically, any feature that allows you to view more of your league's historical data would be VERY good and would greatly enhance the immersion factor.

I mean, the data is already there in the league's stats database, we just would like to be able to access it and SEE it!

Here's my one request if it's possible:

When viewing a player in the action menu, have a "shop player" action, which shops the player around the league for potential trades, similar to what the shop player function does in the desktop version of OOTP.

I would love to add it but I need your help:

Generating the offers is no problem but displaying them is. The way OOTP handles it is impossible to use for iOOTP, so how can we show the offers to the user?

Could you have it take a day and just generate trade requests from the interested teams?

I would even be happy with a list of teams and their needs somewhere without going through every team looking for the one tha needs what I'm offering. Not as good, but better than the current.

I would also second the career leaderboards, that would be huge. Plus all the things I suggested in the suggestion forum.

Our saves are way to big for iCloud support. Apple complains about it all the time. So I doubt it will be possible in the near future.

The more I play, the more I see the crying need for something showing the development of players. I have had issues with the SS position in my game, and when I would initially set up my team, the manager would constantly put this half star potential player with 4-2-1 ratings in the lineup. He was good defensively, but his hitting was so much worse that I couldn't figure out why he would go in. Well, I let it go and two seasons later, he's a 5 star guy with 8-7-7 ratings. Without letting my manager set the lineups, this guy would never have gotten a chance, and most likely never would have been on my major league roster. And since I have no idea what guys are doing in the minors, I would have no reason to even take a second look at him.

Hopefully the development report you're looking at will account for cases like this, where a guy will perform well above his ratings. Because it's impossible to determine now if someone might be tearing up the minor leagues if it's not reflected in his ratings. Which is what this case was. Nothing changed until he got inserted into the starting lineup. Preseason stats would be nice also.

Dropbox could be a valid feature for device syncing anything to let us use both devices

Thats an interesting idea. I found an Dropbox iOS SDK but also a lot of reported review rejections. Whenever I have a bit of time I will investigate a bit more and evaluate the possibility to add it but not in an important update.
