Rosters!

Are there ANY rosters for ootp2006?
If so where can I get them?
If not when will they be out and where will they be?
I love the game but i can't play it without the real players

Rolen/Cubbyfan23 have a set coming out. I believe Cubbyfan said the first release would be in the coming days. I'd imagine you're going to see a lot of sets coming in the next couple weeks.

I'm surprised they aren't out yet. I thought that the format was released early to certain excellent roster set makers in order to have them ready upon release?

I never worked on any, but I am assuming it is very time consuming. To edit players requires a lot of research, editing and review I would assume.

We (roster makers in general) did get to work early on our respective projects, but there is a LOT of work that goes into it if you're going to do it right. Believe me, I know.

Rolen and Cubby will put time into their project. Let them.

I'm with you. I can't stand the lack of familiarity with fictional players. But even if it takes another week or two to get these rosters out, I believe it will be a blessing in disguise considering all of the bugs that need to be worked out. Some of the problems I see makes running a season and keeping historical stats almost impossible. So it would look like the release of the rosters will not be too far apart from the release of the first patch, which I have been told will be around 6/7.

You can try importing previous OOTP 6.5 league files.

Like the old Cubby opening day one. That's what I'm using.

How do you convert if 6.5 is no longer installed?

You don't need to have it installed.

Just have the .lg folder in your OOTP2006 directory, select new game in OOTP2006, select import 6/6.5 league, and it will bring up a file box where you choose the league.dat.

Correct.

The only problem I have seen with this is that OOTP2006 does not imprt HBP, Wild Pitches, and Balks.

Also pitching seems to be a little too strong with this league file. But it's wonderful having real player names.

What I did after I imported was go through all the settings to make sure they are correct, and I added the Minor leagues for the MLB. The minor league teams are correct, but I don't really care about that right now, I just wanted real players.
