The BJBL started in 1986 with complete historical rosters on OOTP13. 3 and a half years later we have migrated to OOTP17 and have reached 2016 in game date for a total sim time of 30 seasons!
During that time, we have added a few new measures in order to keep the game unique and fresh for our long standing members.
One of those unique traits is the addition of a fictional academy of high school players that enter a 100 team academy when they turn 14 years old, play 4 seasons and enter the draft when they turn 18.
This allows for a few things, for one, it allows the ever sharp owner to keep an eye on the overrated player who has not performed up to expectations, or allow the moneyball thrifty owner to find the diamond in the rough who has absolutely crushed pitching but may slide a few rounds.
It also helps infuse the game with new talent, mixed with the real rosters that have been developed over the last 30 years, I would say we are at a mix of about 85% fictional players to 15% real players, and obviously that number will be dropping as we head into the future.
All the teams are real, and we have plenty of openings, so chances are your favorite team is available as well.
So come join a league that has been through 4 OOTP versions (we upgrade every other year), we want you to be a part of the team too!
