I lost 3-2 so I got the 500 points anyway.

Hmmm, with 2700+ cards in my collection, it's a bit tough to try to figure out who to play in say, a Bronze and below tournament. I can quickly activate 200 qualifying players through the Roster Management screen and get that info into a spreadsheet but there's way more cards I should be considering. Are there any rating databases out there?

My Raccoons are going to have big problems in the no restrictions tournaments. I didn't realize that our defensive training doesn't get used in tournaments and so my normally strong defense is now pretty weak. I've got Lajoie playing at 2B (normally he's on the bench) with his 59 rating and Ruth in LF with his 55 rating.
My team no longer has any depth to speak of (only 1 diamond not on active roster) since I sold off all of my higher rated cards to try and get the best team possible for regular play. I do have lots of gold and under cards left so I'll try and setup a team for one of those tournaments.

Loving the Open Historical Round Robin, 16 team tournament format. Though, I lost to Orcin in the finals of ID4, and played him in the quarterfinals of ID5 for a quick elimination.

We made it to the Quarter Finals in a 32-team event, winning through two rounds before coming against a monster Live team Proud of my guys though, next time we'll go even further!

This has definitely reinvigorated my enjoyment of PT20. Currently in a 128-team bronze-only best-of-7 tourney (1-1 in R2 currently) and a 32-team LIVE 1500 cap best-of-5 (up 2-0 in the 3rd round...so close to points or packs).

What happens if you join a tourney that you don’t qualify for? All live or gold?

Made the semis of the Live cap tourney, but I'm now up against 1 of 2 teams that are at least 300 points over the cap. Already reported within the game and on the forum. At least I'll be getting a minimum of 500 PP for the trouble.

OK, I wasn't sold on tournaments, and the selection screen is both incredibly overwhelming and hard to read, but this does seem like it will be fun.

I made it into the semifinals of a 64-team bo5 silver tournament before I got swept by a team that wasn't significantly better than mine. Got unlucky in games 2 and 3, losing a low scoring game in G2 and getting dropped on a walkoff after a 5 run comeback in the clinching game.

Now everyone's got a use for every card they've decided (voluntarily) to keep or purchase & a level playing field.

I had a good run in those today. I won 1D3, ID4, ID6, ID8, finished second in ID5, and 3rd/4th in ID2 and ID7. Then I watched a movie and lost all my momentum. I will be back tomorrow though. The tournaments have opened up a whole frontier in this game.

I missed the tournament excitement today because it was a holiday. I have more free time at work, haha.
Does anyone know what happens with park factors in tournaments? Neutral? Home team has their regular park? Random? Something else? |

Are achievements obtained through tournaments?

Some things just don't change for the Doubledays. A game short again!

One of the 9 or so tourneys I joined was one of those 64 team Do Or Die (DoD) tourneys featuring Bronze Live cards. I figured my packs only team would fare well and we made it all the way to the semi-finals. 4 out of the 5 games were decided by 1 run, and 2 of those were walk-off wins. Good times! I really enjoy the option of playing with these neglected cards.
