Sounds in the Game

Does anyone know if you can replace sound files in the Sounds folder with wav files ? if so can you just delete the OGG file and rename and replace with a wav file ?

I do believe ogg is required now.

We NEED a separate Sound forum now that we can have customizable stadium sounds. You have no idea how cool it is for me to hear Ernie Harwell saying, "Loooooonnnnnnng gone," instead of the HR horn. I've suggested it, but things are always hectic at launch time.

WAV to OGG is easy - Audacity is what I use, but there are probably lighter tools than an audio editor that can do it.

It could be really cool if the sound files could also be triggered by someone coming to bat like Kirby Puckett and you hear the stadium announcer call out his name like I have in the zip file.

Now that would be really cool because I know there are a ton of batters that had different announcements like this when they would come up to bat.

There some very good walk-up from the 70's to the 90's, by no means all inclusive, at this link, and they work with 21—just tested them. There are a couple of other walk-up mods that were posted over the years, but I forget just where. I'll dig through my digital 'second garage' to see if I still have them. If I find them, I'll drop a link here so you can d/l what I have.

Here's a link to dropbox whereI was able to find some old walk-ups. That's the good news... The bad news is they're .wav's. You'll have to convert them to .ogg for them to work, and that may take some time. Still...better than nothing.

Ok, that didnt work. I renamed my file Kirby_Puckett and put it in under my Metrodome sound files and... nothing. The added intro_Kirby_Puckett and it does not show up for that either or do anything when he is up. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Its in .ogg and under metrodome sound files.

Try it agin without the underscore...with a space instead. Let me know—I'll search for another backup.

This is what I have in. It did go off once when Bonds came up to bat lol and that for sure is not right lol.

Another question, for Homeruns and "horn" it seems when I have a solo homerun it does my home run message and when I get a 2 or more rbi home run, my horn2 goes off. can you setup horn1, horn2, horn3, and horn4 or does it just randomly actually pick on of them to go off on a homerun? It would be pretty cool to be able to setup sounds for each and one for a grand slam.

But yeah in game right now and nope, still not firing off. and also showing it is an ogg file.

Ok Ty, I actually figured it out. The files must be in the overall ootp sound directory. They can't be placed in the stadium directory.

So all good got it figured out finally lol
