Really not a big fan of the new UI

Was never a fan of the OOTP UI, and that's why I've always vastly preferred FHM to OOTP. This new UI is pretty much a worse version of the OOTP UI... Looks very clunky, childish, and way too bright. Definitely a little disappointing IMO.

You might think it's worse and disappointing. I think it's a nice improvement over what we've had for some years now. It takes a little getting used to, but it's really efficient.

Definitely bright! It will take some getting use to, but I think I like it a bit more.

I like it, I just can not tolerate the white. The brightness makes it hard to enjoy the game at long lengths. I even tried dining my monitor but now I can barely read or see.

I don’t mind it personally but I’d like to have an option for a darker skin as well.

I already wrote it somewhere: Daniel is very busy but Malte and I will look into the possibility to offer an alternative (darker) skin at some point.

But graphics are always personal taste, I really love Daniels work this year.

I didn't mind the former UI but I think I prefer this version - it seems more intuitive. But yeah, way too bright.

Yea I would have been ok with a grey background or a darker shade of white if that even exist lol

Good to hear!
By any chance do you know if you could implement the ability to force takeover an international team of your choice...?
This was one of my biggest pet peeves with the last two editions of FHM.

I will think that through, sounds easy i theory but there might be something that makes it hard to implement.

Echoing what others have said in this thread. Overall, I like the UI - we've come a LONG way since the original FHM. However, in terms of ease on the eyes, I would prefer an option to allow dark background with white text.

After playing a bit last night I'm going to agree with the "too bright" complaint.

Especially with having to sit close due to the tiny font.

It definitely cut down on my play time.

Sebastian and Malte, and team ..

Couldn't you just add the FHM14 skin as an option?

I absolutely agree with prior posting. The FHM 4 skin was perfect. Slick looking and professional and easy on the eyes. Not only is does FHM 5 appear to bright - but just does not look good. Looks cheap - sorry guys.

With all due respect but we have to agree to disagree. Daniel did a great job with the new GUI and many people like it a lot. Yes, an additional dark skin would be great but our resources just don´t let us do 2 skins at the moment.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. IMO Daniel did a fantastic job. I love the look of FHM5. YMMV.

I don't think most people have an issue with how it looks, but rather the fact it's harder on the eyes for many.

Yeah, I'd say so.. Its definitely one of the things that I'm watching before I decide if I'm buying or not (along with trade AI, management of AHL teams by NHL teams, preseason, training etc). When I run games like this that involve a lot of reading number management (OOTP, FM and EHM to name a few) I always run dark skins. I find myself playing for long periods of time or at night, and its MUCH easier on the eyes.

From looking at the videos on Youtube, the UI looks decent but staring at something that bright for a long period of time? No thanks.
