Historical rookies

If I start a 2016 season can I then have the draft populate with players from the past somehow?

if you check the box - import historical rookies from different eras it should work. i haven't used that feature and only play in the early eras (1901-1930) but i don't see why it shouldn't work.

I did that but the first draft class is all fictional players. Thanks though.

You have to edit in the historical database line under historical.
Never really know what the line is calld but copy & paste the OOTP - Stats folder line from your PC. Mine looks like this.
C:\Users\Todd\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 17\stats
Use ctrl-c to copy it ctrl-v to paste it into the database path line. Check import historical rookies & random debut since there are no historical rookies in 2016. If it doesn;t work there are work arounds.

I also think if you imported "historical update to date" you can't draft older players for your league. The older players are all retired and show up on player's retired list.
The above statement assumes your year starting is 2016

If you are using the MLB Quickstart which used "real" draft classes in past versions, you might have to delete the players from the draft pool and then generate another draft pool. After 3 seasons the "real" draft classes should be gone and you won't have to repeat this process anymore.
