FHM3 Ideas

Sorry if anything has been repeated by others, great minds think alike...

1) Real training camp
- Call up junior players and draftees
- Add in "good" camp development as well "bad" camp regression
- PTO contract for free agents with above mentioned bonuses
- cuts affect morale both good and badly depending on player

2) Better interaction/feedback for trades, what do they want then?
- Players coveted by other teams.. IE real trade offers for your good players
- intra conference/divisional rivalries affect trade possibility both for the good and for the bad IE West to East trades easier to accomplish

3) Broaden the happiness factor for the players/coaches.
- Not happy with money
- Not happy with contract status
- Does not like the coach
- Must be some prima donnas???

4) Add in a better weekly/daily media section.
- Players of the week
- Player/coach/manager comments regarding good/bad play
- Comments about the above mentioned happiness factors IE drama

5) Broaden the fatigue factor.
- Older players tire down the stretch/playoff?
- Banged up players fatigue more
- Young players have no conditioning...

6) player breakout moments
- sudden development of prospects
- Late bloomers
- Busts
- Playoff heroes/busts affecting development
- Veteran players sporadic playoff bonus;s

7) History <- this one I important
- lack of call ups/and demotions and or contracts affect future signings
- Trading players affecting future FA signings
- Bad history with coach on a different team affects FA signing
- Bad history on contract status affects signing and or FA signing
- Trading history IE fleecing a team affects future trades with GM
-> Winning a Cup makes players want to play for you, resign with you, take less money/want more money but overall respect shoots up for winning a cup

The option of creating a league system based off soccer with tiers. This would mean that bottom teams would go into an elimination round with teams who won the lower tier championship (winner and runner up vs two bottom higher league teams) and the possibility to integrate that into already existing leagues (imagine NHL losing teams and bringing up ahl or creating a tier 2 league below the NHL - or ohl, khl etc).

Allowing local teams to get first picks (1 pick all the way to 10 picks) on local talent in drafts (not just NHL but any league that drafts) and allowing for teams to invest in local talent with the result that more players from their region develop into professionals.

The reality that local talent brings in more fans should be seen in the game, especially in the minor and semi pro leagues.

The ability (in commish mode) too watch any game. We had it in FHM2 and it couldn't be worked in the next version.

The ability too expand beyond 36 teams(I guess that's the max for NHL,AHL and Fictional Leagues that start w/30 teams).

Schedule editor(with neutral site game option).

Move team(s) from League to League(or division to division within one's League). Move team(s) from one season to another season(past or present).

WHA continue beyond the 1978-79 season.

Soooo, you want to change the game to soccer. These suggestions would be entirely antithetical to how hockey teams and leagues are run, and it would diminish the quality of the simulation as a result.

Actually the vast majority hockey leagues have promotion and relegation and a lot of them currently have or have had promotion/relegation playoff pools in the past.

Okay, that's fair, I wasn't thinking of European leagues when I wrote that.
