You're used to teams picking up a name starter @ this time. You aren't expecting teams in the position of the Mets & Reds landing them.
After they let Goldschmidt go last offseason, too. Ketel Marte might be next

Bauer didn't want to leave Cleveland but the trade made sense for the Indians in the long run. I think him showing up at the game last night in the stands was awesome and showed what a different cat he is. He put out a great goodbye video today (see link below) on his Twitter and someone posted another clip of him leaving and stopping for a little girl and signed her baseball. I guess he was taking pictures and signing autographs all night for people and was very cool with the fans.

https://twitter.com/BauerOutage/stat...743517696?s=20

As an Indians fan I hate to see his talent go but I love the return they got back for him, they sorely lacked RH power and picked up a rental and a long term guy plus two LH starters that may be a year or two away, but they lacked in LH starting in the upper minors.

Wow. That was a very nice video. I wish I could have listened to sports talk radio today to hear what people were saying about it.

I heard Adam "The Bull" and Dustin Fox talking about it briefly on their afternoon show yesterday and they both had nothing but good things to say about Bauer, and if you know Bull, he and Bauer have gotten into it on Twitter to the point where Bauer blocked Bull.

I was listening to Baskin and Phelps this morning. Baskin seemed to have some sort of axe to grind, trying to spin the video into something controversial. He tends to babble and I got tired of it and decided to listen to my mp3 player instead.

Every conversation about Bauer focused on his quirks, and whenever I heard an interview with him I always thought, "Very smart guy, but not someone I would want to hang out with or even meet." I loved him as a pitcher, even though he seemed to struggle a bit this season at times.

But I'm willing to take the video at face value. I've lived in Cle my whole life, and it doesn't seem odd to me that somebody not from here could actually like the city and its sports fans.

So...good luck to Trevor in his future career. Except when the Reds play us.

It will be interesting to see how things go in Cleveland with Puig and Reyes. I haven't paid much attention to Puig recently, but I seem to remember that he was once considered to be one of baseball's brightest young stars. I didn't realize he's such a big guy! Reyes too.

I liked Bauers and Allen a lot. I hope they get called back from Columbus in September.

Too bad the deadline passed or the the Phils could have traded for some mascot prospects in the minor leagues before the Phanatic flew the coop. Or den. Or wherever he spends his time after work.

Why don't they let the Cubs play in this "Field of Dreams" game? Their AAA team has been in Iowa for as long as I can remember.

Yeah, I don't mind them. I'm just tired of them choosing the Yanks to do it all the time. Let somebody else get some shine for a minute. Heck, 8,000 fans would make the Rays claustrophobic.
