Suggestions for Custom Mode
I know that a lot of these are probably very hard to implement, and not likely to be in any version of the game in the near future, but I still wanted to get these ideas out to you guys. I also know that custom mode isn't a huge priority, as it is not the most played game type, but I would still love to see these added, if possible, one day.
1. This is a common request, but having the ability to change league structure in game (i.e. at the beginning of every season), would be awesome. That way, if you start with 6 teams, and expand to 30, you aren't stuck with having the 6 team structure and schedule for a 30 team league. 2. More control over certain rules in league setup: For example, being able to set up age limits for your league, limiting the amount of foreign players per team, adjusting the average salary of your league, etc. I feel like a lot of these things were available in a past version, maybe FHM 2? 3. Be able to create a custom world, instead of just three interconnected leagues. Eventually, it would be awesome to be able to create as many leagues as you would like to, in various countries, and create your own custom world of leagues. 4. Ability to control how many players come from each country. For example, if I create a custom league that is based in Ontario in 1904, it would make sense, and be realistic, that the league is composed of 99% Canadian players, with maybe the odd American or UK player in the mix. However, I have no way of controlling this as a player, so every team ends up having a variety of Swedes, Finns, Russians, Czechs, etc, even though it isn't very realistic for that era. Again, this is something that is probably not very practical to implement, but I think it would be awesome if you could somehow control the nationalities of the players in your league from the initial set up. 5. Ability to delete teams. We all know that leagues expand, but just as often, they contract, and teams that don't do well are left in the dust. I think it would be cool to be able to take teams out of your league, as well as add them in. 6. Have real players in custom league. I know that this is an option if you choose 2016 as the start year, and NHL 30 teams as the structure, but it would be awesome to be able to start a custom league in 1955, and have Jean Beliveau, Maurice Richard, Gordie Howe, and Ted Kennedy, instead of randomized players. That's all I can think of for now. |

Great list of suggestions.
I've played hundreds of hours in OOTP baseball games, playing a fictional world, and thats the type of game i would like to have with FHM. (what you described) The ability to have multiple pro leagues, minor leagues and feeder / junior leagues. The ability to control the nationality of players, as well as the quality of players coming from those nations. Being able to integrate this with an international tournament would be fun too. Im sure I'm in the minority, but i play the OOTP game as if I'm telling a story with the league and its evolution, and i'm playing ( controlling ) a team throughout that history. I'll be honest the reason I never invested in the competition (East Side Hockey) is because of the lack of customization, no fictional league ability. So I keep looking and waiting for FHM to match what it does in the OOTP game. Until it does i'll, keep playing OOTP and wait before investing into the hockey equivalent. |
