Expansion Mode Problem

Ok, I just finished the 1982 season. Had a great year with Milwaukee winning the World Series. All of a sudden I see a new item in the ML drop-down menu. Expansion Draft & Protection Lists.
I had Automatically Expand League selected in setup and hold expansion draft selected. I thought this pertained to when the league historically expanded which it shouldn't have done until '93.
I notice that Montreal now has no players on their roster.
They had a team during the '82 season that just got played. When I search for Gary Carter he shows up and he is shown as a Montreal player.
Then when I look, they have a roster by using the search screens. When using the drop-down menu for teams they again have nobody on the roster. None of their players are listed in the free agent menu though.

What's happening?
Is there any way to circumvent this?
Does this happen at the end of every season? One of the teams gets to pick from all of the other teams to get fresh talent?

I can't help you here, but if you'd come across some glitch, you'll probably get a better response moving this thread to Tech Support.

did you change thier historical ID or change their name. I've seen where if you change one of those two and have historical expantion that the game will move them back or try and expand that team back into the league.
