League Expansion Changes?

With the changes in customization and the addition of a 31st team in Vegas, are there any changes to the league expansion wizard so that we can add 1, 2, or even more teams at a time per season? If I remember correctly, previous games only allowed 2 teams for expansion per season.

Still two at a time. But with the schedule generator working better now (that's the reason we were able to introduce more customization to fictional leagues, and handle new European leagues with split-season schedules), making expansion more flexible is much less of a problem than it previously was, so that's probably going to change when we can find the time to make the other necessary adjustments.

is there a limit on the number of expansions?

For Example could I start a fictional league with 8 teams and over time expand it to 30?

So you're basically saying that we could never have a NHL with even numbered teams? As we start with 31, and only can add two/four/six etc., you won't be able to have 32/34/36 and so on?

Right now, yeah. Single-team expansion was on the to-do list, but hasn't made it in yet. Probably not a lot of work to add it, but it's just a matter of finding the time.

I'm curious about this too. I like starting with a lower number and gradually expanding my league so I'd like to know if there is a max limit like with FHM2.

NHL limit will still be 3 expansions; I don't think that applies to custom leagues right now, but there's a problem at the moment with the larger league sizes, so I can't check that for sure - we may have to limit the total number of teams.

Ok, so it's more a total team limit than a limit of the number of expansions that can happen? So we could have an original six league that expands to 30 teams over time? I think this is what you're saying.

Also, is it possible to contract a custom league? I'm specifically thinking of recreating a situation like the great depression.

No, not possible to delete teams at the moment.

Yes, it is a team limit, not a expansion limit. I don´t have the code in front of me but I think it is indeed 36.

Just tested it, yeah, it's 36. Went from 6 up to 36 (2 per year), then at 36 it's disabled.

If the team limit is 36 but the NHL, with a current total of 31 teams, is limited to 3 expansions of 2 teams each....wouldn't that be a total of 37 teams which is obviously one more than 36 teams?

It'll go to 37 if it's starting from an odd number of teams.

Will it possible to have larger Custom Leagues even those fashioned after the current day NHL?
