Talent Change Randomness question

Does TCR mainly only matter for young players, or does it have an effect on established players as well? I tried to find the answer on the boards but was unable to. In past versions I have kept TCR at the default 100. However I am noticing a lot of established players numbers just dropping out of the blue. And these players are not old veterans, but mostly players in the 27 to 31 age bracket.

It applies to all players in the game. Its supposed to be a factor of how consistent a player is over the life of his career ... the higher the randomness factor, the less likely, on average, player performance will be consistent.

What you describe immediately makes me think your aging factors are at play, not talent change randomness. What are those settings?

The settings I have for aging are just the default 1.00 for aging and development.

i'd wager it happens more often with very young players, but no idea for sure -- have to turn off inaccuracy, but even so it seems like they are more volatile at 16-18.

i think i've seen a mid-30s get a boost before, but maybe it's just masked by offsetting aging, so it seems less often?

too many coinciding forces that do similar things... it'd take a large sample to figure it out.
