Hey, I'm addicted to this thread.
Gotta have my fix every day... might have to rob a liquor store if Txranger doesn't post a new logo on a daily basis. I am even re-reading this thread to make sure I don't miss something... up to page 75 so far... only have 250 more pages or so to go. Last edited by Eugene Church; 07-02-2016 at 05:48 PM. |

I own exactly one Ebbets Field flannel. Not surprisingly, it's from my hometown club, the Raleigh Capitals. I had the bright idea to re-create it. It turned out okay, I think.
Just the jersey, no hat. I don't know what it looks like! PS I know the Capitol dome is off-center, that was a design choice to get it to show up better in the game!

PCL - Vernon Tigers
Pacific Coast League
Vernon Tigers One more for the PCL... Didn't realize the Tigers were around for so long in the PCL, about 17 years... Guess that deserves a logo and a set of uniforms... FYI, the tiger artwork in the first two are not mine, that is from some tattoo art I found... Last edited by txranger; 07-03-2016 at 06:47 PM. |

If it's based on that picture of Yaz, it's the same vintage as my uniform and so it goes well...

Ahh, my boyhood fan of the Yaz... Always remembered the 67 World Series, of the Sixth Game... when he hit one over the LF wall and then later in the same innng, Reggie Smith and Rico Petrocelli hit back to back home-runs... ah, such thrills...
Awesome Tigers logo... Have a Great Forth, Tx and to the rest of the Retro gang...

Hey Tex, Happy 4th!!!
I was wondering if you could make another modification for me whenever you have time. In the next couple of seasons I'm wanting to move Atlanta to Omaha and am hoping you would change the Atlanta Kings set you made to the Omaha Kings. I don't know how it would look, but could you also make an alternate cap using an old english O? Again, no rush and many thanks for all you do!

Two things for you, TX.
First, that purplish colored Vernon jersey and hat have to be one of my favorites. By far, that is the best looking Vernon uniform created, to date! Nicely done. Second, I too, think your colt .45 uniforms and logos look better with the "cowboy" version of the gun! As always, thanks for spoiling us, so much. |

Gadsden Pilots
Quote:
“The Gadsden Pilots were a mid-20th century minor league professional baseball team. In the late 1940s, the Pilots were one of eight teams in the Class B Southeastern League. “One of the teams – the Pensacola Flyers – was from Florida, and three – the Vicksburg Billies, the Jackson Senators, and the Meridian Millers – were based in Mississippi. There were four Alabama teams – the Anniston Rams, the Selma Cloverleafs, the Montgomery Rebels and the Gadsden Pilots. “Gadsden had several minor-league teams during the early 20th century with various names and in various leagues. The name “’Pilots’ was not related to aviation, but instead was a holdover from the days of riverboat pilots on the Coosa. Before World War II, professional baseball in Gadsden was played at a ballpark in East Gadsden. Last edited by txranger; 07-07-2016 at 08:07 PM. |
