Paris Turkey Rustlers
Paris Turkey Rustlers
Paris, Tx founded in 1840 was in the 19th century often the scene of cattle rustling just outside of town. With manager Ewell "Turkey" Gross at the helm in 1928, newspapers called the players "Ewell Turkey Gross's Rustlers." The tag "rustlers" was slang for "baseball players." I took the liberty to change the name to "Turkey Rustlers", just sounded better than plain ol' rustlers... |

<3 Turkey Rustlers. Great name, and fun clip art in the logo. Also wanted to give you props for the Houston Magnolias a few pages back. IMO, more teams need to be named for flora.

@txranger, absolutely love your work. Your google drive is a pretty amazing thing to go through.
I help with the Skyline league, of which we use all of your incredible logos, and I know all the GM's love. I'm wondering if you have a chance, if you can update the the Marlins with the new Miami branding. Not a huge deal, but I'd love to surprise our highly invested Miami GM with the new logo. If you don't have the time, no worries at all!! Thanks for giving our league one of the best brands around. Cheers! Michael

Hey TX,
if you're willing, could you make me a team by the name of "New Hampshire Frost"? Or Frost Heaves? The name takes on two meanings - first because, you know, NH is super cold. Secondly, the team would be named after famous New Hampshire resident Robert Frost. Thank you for all that you do! |

Texarkana Gunslingers
Texarkana Gunslingers
After the civil war ended, the Texas-Arkansas border was stirred up by the advert of railroads, oil wells and lumber fields, which became a breeding ground for bandits and gun-slinging outlaws of all types. Isaac "Hanging Judge" Parker and his deputy marshals had jurisdiction over Indian Territory. There were plenty of shootouts between marshals and gun-toting outlaws. Just coincidence that these are the same color as the SA Bullets... Last edited by txranger; 12-02-2018 at 09:34 PM. |

Hitchcock Zepplins
Hitchcock Zepplins Purely fictional team... Based on the following... The Hitchcock Naval Air Station was a blimp base used for spotting German submarine activity during WWII. The 3,000 acre base was within the city limits of Hitchcock, Tx and construction began in 1942. The blimp hanger which held six aircraft was built for the astounding cost of $10 million. Dimensions of the hanger was 1,000 feet long by 300 feet wide and 200 feet high. Floor space was 300,000 square feet. I have driven by this base many times in my younger years... |

Tyler Wildcatters

Crude oil and natural gas from nearby oil wells are transported to the city refineries... Oil prospectors got the nickname "wildcatters" because they roam the prairies like a wildcat... The team logo is a black panther... Panthers inhabit Texas... |

Hey Tex, if you still have it, could you post that Texarkana logo without the wordmarks (the logo on each jersey's sleeves)?

Actually, a while back, I did start a thread for the purpose you mentioned, in hopes of trying to consolidate a number of threads, if memory serves, txranger. However, it doesn't seem to be getting many reviews, or even many responses, if at all, from other people. Or at least it doesn't and hasn't of yet, I think.
I have tried to make various sets of my own, but haven't had much, if any, real success with the utilities yet. About the only thing or things I've been able to perhaps do anything for so far are a cap or two and maybe a uniform or two for a team called the Virginia Planters. I'll have to see if I can find out where I put those items, so I can show you what I mean well enough, I think, and no logo to go with them either, at that. I have put some things I did elsewhere on my DeviantArt profile, and mentioned them in at least one of my threads But I have no real idea or ideas on just how they could be translated or mimicked or something when it comes to OOTP-related kinds of things, at least, as of yet, unfortunately. Check my threads, and maybe you'll see what I mean better, whether I've mentioned them before in this thread or not, I think. I'd really like to know how I might be able to get OOTP-style versions of my Chroniclers items designed and made and all, for example, if possible. But I don't know how they could be translated easily enough and all, or at least I don't right now, unfortunately. Until next time, then, everyone, I'll close this. CD out. |
