How to play in a league with friends who have older versions of OOTP?

I have some friends who have a long running league with OOTP13. They don't want to upgrade to OOTP15 yet. I purchased OOTP for the first time a week ago, and now I'd like to be able to join their league. I haven't actually tried yet. They are under the impression that I can't join their league because of the version differences.

To summarize my questions:

Is it possible to play in an older OOTP league with OOTP 15?
Is it free to use OOTP 13 or older?
If OOTP 13 and older are not free, does the purchase of OOTP 15 give me access to OOTP 13?

1. Can't be done.

2. No - only ver 8 is free, and it won't be compatible with 13 leagues either

3. No, you will have to purchase 13 if you wish to play in a league that uses 13.

Thanks for the answers. How can I buy the older versions? I only see an option to buy OOTP 14 and OOTP 15.

Once downloaded, do a normal install and you should be able to purchase license once you start the game.
