1871 workaround with extra leagues?

I've been using RMY's 1871 league, but I find it a pain to add extra teams. In my 1901 universes, I create them with AAA-quality "feeder leagues" which contain teams that basically wait around to be added to the majors; unfortunately, you can't do this with the 1871 workaround, since you can't add leagues after the universe is created. Is it possoble to create a universe with an existing 6.5 league, plus other fictional leagues? (I'd try this myself but I don't have 6.5) Thoughts?

I've never imported leagues from 6.5 (rarely played 6.5, only bought it for one online league). Not sure what you mean about adding teams being a pain - it's only a few mouse clicks, is it not? Given the findings of dougation in the tech support thread with a problem caused by the reserve roster, I might do a QS with minors.

Adding teams is easy, assigning players to them isn't. The "release-and-sign" bit seems a lot more complicated in OOTP2006; for one thing, it won't let me release players on the reserve roster at all.

I guess I could create the teams with all-fictional rosters, but I'd like to keep this universe as "pure" as possible. (Also, your 1871 QS seems to be using the current nations.txt for the US, with many inappropriate [for 1871] Hispanic and Asian names...)

But if you're expanding at the correct time with correct Team IDs to automatically import historical 'rookies' (and at time of expansions, you'll get more of them), you should get a good portion of the roster filled.

The other way of moving players is in the Editor tab, you can simply move a player to another team.

Can't you also edit players' teams using the csv exports?
