OOTP 11 Update #2 Released + All-Star Promotion, Save $10!

Hey guys,

we've just released OOTP 11 update #2 (version 11.2.15) and also dropped the price of OOTP during the All-Star week to $29.99, so if you haven't purchased the game yet, this is your chance to save some money! The special price will last until Monday, July 19th.

Update #2 contains various new features, improvements and fixes several reported bugs. Here are the download locations:

Important: For online leagues, all users must be on the same version of the game!

Important! If you have purchased a Viva boxed version or Gamer's Gate version of the game, you cannot download these updates! You must get updates directly from Viva's site. Updates for those editions are typically available several days to a week after they become available, as they require additional time to process and prepare the updates for their versions of the game!

This will not be the last update of OOTP 11, we will start working on another one soon.

Revamped picture menu on player, coach and manager screen

After patching I no longer have the ability to change ethnicity, hair color, beard, etc. The only options I have are..

New fictional
Import Photofit
Import Photo file
Auto reload
baseball card

Did something get broken here or did we intentionally lose some functionality or am I missing something?

now...will this patch bust any current running leagues? Im still running my old old carryover league from Ver. 6 that i don't feel like corrupting.

Glad to see the salary work being done, things were a little silly at times.

I am sure 11 is great but at the moment I cannot upgrade due to financial hardships I have been out of work for almost 2 years but I still play 10 and love it, I have been doing a replay of the Yankees thru the the 1960's great game !!!

Thanks Andreas but there is a little quirk here, at least in my league.

My league has virtually no real players left in it, 99%+ fictional players. With the patch all of my current fictional players with a facegen only have the limited menu I posted above as if they are real player pics. If I create a new fictional facegen I then have all of the options again.

Question, since the game appears to be treating my facegens as real players will they still age or am I going to have to regenerate them all to have the aging, mood features?

As long as they age and change moods it is a minor annoyance. If they won't then it is something I would hope would be fixed in either a hot fix for this patch, if possible, or in the next patch if a hot fix is not possible.

Seems to be a bug then, sorry. Ill fix it ASAP. No worry, it's just a problem with the code that builds the menu. Your players will still change mood and age.

I think that the full facegen import would be nice for when, say, we download a new set of fg files and want to update them for a current league. Just kind of a nice-to-have thing.

It still seems like facegen files are not updating after trades, free agent signings, etc. I have a lot of guys just wearing blue caps who are on teams, guys wearing uniforms from their prior teams after trades, etc. Would like to just start the facegen's fresh.

edit: ctorg has another great purpose above. With the work being done with the facegen project, they update current faces often. Would be nice to just reimport in one fell swoop.

One thing that you can always do is to delete all player images from the folder <league folder.lg>/news/html/images. The player picture files have file names like player_x.png, where x is the player ID.

One of the changes we made in this version is the following: let's say you have a major league with a lot of real player pics. But you actually prefer using the PhotoFit files (fg files). Then just copy new fg files into the folder /fg_files and restart OOTP. OOTP will replace real player pics with fg files if available.
