2081 Season:
The LOS ANGELES DODGERS were the world champions, sweeping the Rochester Red Wings. The WILLIAMSPORT CROSSCUTTERS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 59-102, one game behind the Great Falls Voyagers for last place. 126 teams remain in Major League Baseball... In Memoriam: Williamsport Crosscutters Low A- Philadelphia Phillies Low A Teams Remaining: 11 Phillies Affiliates Remaining: 2/5 All Time Record: 4829-5505 (.467) Best Season: 2026, 99-63, 26th place Best Hitter: Jorge Caseres (2033-2046) After getting cups of coffee three years in a row, the Dominican first baseman became a regular in Williamsport in 2036 and never looked back. Two years later, he hit 51 home runs and won a Silver Slugger award. His career high was 53, and he hit 637 over the course of his career. But he was a well rounded player too, twice posting an OBP above .400. He signed with the Reds in 2047, and in 2049 he won his only ring and was named World Series MVP. Caseres retired in 2053, and he was a first ballot Hall of Famer a few years later. Best Pitcher: Cy Kemp (2023-2033) The Harvard grad became one of the league's most consistent pitchers. He struck out between 9.2 and 10.3 batters per 9 in every one of his seasons except for his first and last. He no-hit the Twins in 2028, and in 2030, he led the league with 20 wins and 226 innings pitched. His lowest ERA actually came in his contract year of 2032, when he posted a 2.90 at age 32. He signed a 5-year, $88 million deal with Hartford. Unfortunately, injuries derailed that contract, and Kemp retired in 2037 after a torn labrum cost him the entire season. Notes: Hartford LF Tetsuo Kubo led the league with a .359 batting average. Yankees LF Luis Esparza led the league with 60 home runs. Fresno CF Chris Knight led the league with 10.2 WAR. Bowling Green two-way sensation Ian Kelly won his third consecutive MVP. Though his 115 OPS+ was his worst of the three years, he more than made up for it by posting a 2.36 ERA with a 0.96 WHIP and 256 strikeouts. Pitching and hitting combined, he was worth 9.6 WAR. His team won 75 games. Angels CF Murdoch Dugles led the league with 59 stolen bases. Mariners SP Rob Simien led the league with a 2.35 ERA. White Sox SP Jon Coronado had a 2.15 FIP. Kannapolis SP Trejyn Walker led the league with 312 strikeouts. Though he has lived in the shadow of Walker and Murphy for his whole career, he has been an incredibly dominant pitcher as well. Tigers SP Curt Murphy struck out 177 batters, giving him 4254 for his career. Only Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, Clayton Kershaw, Roger Clemens, and Zion Bethea have more than him. He is a free agent, but after posting a 5.05 ERA it may be hard to see him getting a job. After two injury plagued seasons, Rockies RF Jorge Quintana hit 26 home runs to move up to 9th all time. The 41 year old now has 743 longballs, and he has another year under contract at Coors Field. The Washington Nationals were the worst MLB team, going 73-88 and finishing in 92nd place. Clearwater Threshers listed twice as eliminated teams above, may want to edit the second instance to read Williamsport Crosscutters instead. Just a thought here, that's all. CD out.

2082 Season:
The SAN DIEGO PADRES were the world champions, defeating the 112-win Atlanta Braves in 6 games. The OMAHA STORM CHASERS were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 48-114, ten whole games behind the Auburn Doubledays for last place. 125 teams remain in Major League Baseball... In Memoriam: Omaha Storm Chasers AAA- Kansas City Royals AAA Teams Remaining: 21 Royals Affiliates Remaining: 3/6 All Time Record: 5084-5414 (.484) Best Season: 2074, 109-53, 3rd place Best Hitter: Sergio Moreno (2029-2040) "Popeye" Moreno signed out of the Dominican at the age of 16 in 2026. He got his first taste of the big leagues in '29 and became a regular two years later. He hit just 8 home runs in 547 plate appearances that year, but the power really turned on the following season when he hit 37. He learned to take walks later in his career too, as he had an OBP above .400 seven times. The Hall of Famer signed with the Dodgers in 2041 and retired in 2047 with 434 home runs, a .387 OBP, and 74.9 WAR. Best Pitcher: Ron MacDougall (2063-2076) A second round draft pick by Bowling Green in 2059, MacDougall was traded for two starting pitchers at the deadline in 2061. Two years later, he was the number three prospect in all of baseball. He began his career as a reliever, but he became a star after moving to the rotation. MacDougall won the Cy Young award in 2072 after posting a 2.39 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with 242 strikeouts. In Omaha's third place season, he started just 9 games due to injury, but he had a career best 189 ERA+. After spending two years with Arkansas, he retired in 2078 following a solid season. He will be eligible for the Hall of Fame ballot next year. Notes: Tacoma LF Ernesto Rebolledo led the league with a .371 batting average. Quad Cities LF Arturo Luna led the league with 56 home runs and a .676 SLG. Greeneville CF Chris Knight led the league with 9.5 WAR. Round Rock SP Juan Ortega won the Cy Young after posting a 2.16 ERA with 307 strikeouts and an absurd 1.51 FIP. Phillies closer Pantalião Almaa saved 51 games. White Sox SP Jon Coronado led the league with 310 strikeouts. Charlotte RF Zach Piazza homered in 8 consecutive games in late June and early July. Rockies RF Jorge Quintana hit 13 home runs in 74 games, putting him 8th all time with 756. He could potentially pass Bonds and Harper next year. The Nashville Sounds were the best MiLB team, going 100-62 and finishing in 5th place. The Cincinnati Reds were the worst MLB team, going 73-88 and finishing in 95th place. Teams eliminated: 2018: Princeton Rays 2019: Bristol Pirates 2020: Aberdeen Ironbirds 2021: Hickory Crawdads 2022: Mobile Bay Bears 2023: Reading Fightin Phils 2024: Bowie Baysox 2025: Potomac Nationals 2026: Biloxi Shuckers 2027: Lake Elsinore Storm 2028: Grand Junction Rockies 2029: South Bend Cubs 2030: Modesto Nuts 2031: Tri-City Valley Cats 2032: Reno Aces 2033: Staten Island Yankees 2034: Portland Sea Dogs 2035: Lexington Legends 2036: Batavia Muckdogs 2037: Frederick Keys 2038: Hillsboro Hops 2039: Tri-City Dust Devils 2040: Tennessee Smokies 2041: Norfolk Tides 2042: Vancouver Canadians 2043: Buffalo Bisons 2044: Jupiter Hammerheads 2045: Eugene Emeralds 2046: Myrtle Beach Pelicans 2047: New Orleans Baby Cakes 2048: Hagerstown Suns 2049: Sacramento River Cats 2050: Corpus Christi Hooks 2051: Salem Red Sox 2052: Kane County Cougars 2053: Jackson Generals 2054: Lake County Captains 2055: Bradenton Marauders 2056: Stockton Ports 2057: Dunedin Blue Jays 2058: Everett Aqua Sox 2059: Johnson City Cardinals 2060: Idaho Falls Chukars 2061: Toledo Mud Hens 2062: Springfield Cardinals 2063: Charleston RiverDogs 2064: Asheville Tourists 2065: Peoria Chiefs 2066: Lowell Spinners 2067: Las Vegas 51s 2068: Binghamton Rumble Ponies 2069: Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 2070: Lakeland Flying Tigers 2071: Richmond Flying Squirrels 2072: Cedar Rapids Kernels 2073: Augusta GreenJackets 2074: Billings Mustangs 2075: Iowa Cubs 2076: Columbia Fireflies 2077: Clearwater Threshers 2078: Pulaski Yankees 2079: West Michigan Whitecaps 2080: St. Lucie Mets 2081: Williamsport Crosscutters 2082: Omaha Storm Chasers |

2083 Season:
The SAN DIEGO PADRES won their second consecutive World Series. They erased a 3 games to 0 deficit to defeat the 113-win Indianapolis Indians. The DANVILLE BRAVES were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 54-107, 7 games behind the Hartford Yard Goats for last place. 124 teams remain in Major League Baseball... In Memoriam: Danville Braves Rookie- Atlanta Braves Rookie Teams Remaining: 10 Braves Affiliates Remaining: 4/5 All Time Record: 4793-5862 (.450) Best Season: 2034, 102-60, 9th place Best Hitter: Juan Liranzo (2025-2038) A top prospect out of the Dominican Republic, Liranzo debuted at 18 in 2025, but he didn't become a regular for three years. His first full season was a struggle, as he slashed .210/.262/.297 to finish with exactly 0 WAR. He slowly improved, however, and by 2033 he was a superstar. That season, he hit 51 home runs and was 2nd in the majors with 150 RBI. The following year, he won his second straight Silver Slugger and posted a career best 8.1 WAR. In 2039, the shortstop signed with Atlanta and won back-to-back World Series, later winning a third with the Red Sox. Liranzo finished his career with 580 home runs and 101.5 WAR. He was a first ballot Hall of Famer in 2054, and he is the only inductee to enter wearing a Danville cap. Best Pitcher: Shamar Maytubby (2036-2046) The Massachusetts native and 80-grade name was a 4th round pick in 2033. Though he was never a star, he was a steady pitcher for a number of years. In 2039, he was 5th in the majors with 23 quality starts. His best season came in 2042, when he had a 3.35 ERA and was worth 4.4 WAR. After leaving Danville as a free agent in 2047, he played with 6 teams over the next 5 years. Despite a very successful stint as a reliever with the Giants in 2051, Maytubby was released that July and never pitched again. Notes: Houston 1B Nate Draper led the league with a .362 batting average. Gwinnett SS Luis Murillo led the league with 63 homers and a .689 slugging percentage. Bowling Green LF Jimmy Sharpe led the league with a .436 OBP and 8.7 WAR. Round Rock SP Juan Ortega won his second straight Cy Young after posting a 1.75 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 299 strikeouts, and an otherworldly 1.33 FIP. His 1.33 FIP was less than half that of the second best pitcher, Trejyn Walker. White Sox SP Jon Coronado led the league with 312 strikeouts. After winning Cy Young back to back years, Coronado has now finished in second place 3 years in a row. Indianapolis closer Luis Hurtado saved 55 games. Twins SS Mike Musial recorded 200 hits for the 10th season in a row. The 31-year-old now has 2206 hits, and he could be a candidate to be one of the all time leaders in that category. RF Jorge Quintana remained a free agent and retired after the season with 756 home runs. The Pittsburgh Pirates were the worst MLB team, going 64-97 and finishing in 118th place. Teams eliminated: 2018: Princeton Rays 2019: Bristol Pirates 2020: Aberdeen Ironbirds 2021: Hickory Crawdads 2022: Mobile Bay Bears 2023: Reading Fightin Phils 2024: Bowie Baysox 2025: Potomac Nationals 2026: Biloxi Shuckers 2027: Lake Elsinore Storm 2028: Grand Junction Rockies 2029: South Bend Cubs 2030: Modesto Nuts 2031: Tri-City Valley Cats 2032: Reno Aces 2033: Staten Island Yankees 2034: Portland Sea Dogs 2035: Lexington Legends 2036: Batavia Muckdogs 2037: Frederick Keys 2038: Hillsboro Hops 2039: Tri-City Dust Devils 2040: Tennessee Smokies 2041: Norfolk Tides 2042: Vancouver Canadians 2043: Buffalo Bisons 2044: Jupiter Hammerheads 2045: Eugene Emeralds 2046: Myrtle Beach Pelicans 2047: New Orleans Baby Cakes 2048: Hagerstown Suns 2049: Sacramento River Cats 2050: Corpus Christi Hooks 2051: Salem Red Sox 2052: Kane County Cougars 2053: Jackson Generals 2054: Lake County Captains 2055: Bradenton Marauders 2056: Stockton Ports 2057: Dunedin Blue Jays 2058: Everett Aqua Sox 2059: Johnson City Cardinals 2060: Idaho Falls Chukars 2061: Toledo Mud Hens 2062: Springfield Cardinals 2063: Charleston RiverDogs 2064: Asheville Tourists 2065: Peoria Chiefs 2066: Lowell Spinners 2067: Las Vegas 51s 2068: Binghamton Rumble Ponies 2069: Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 2070: Lakeland Flying Tigers 2071: Richmond Flying Squirrels 2072: Cedar Rapids Kernels 2073: Augusta GreenJackets 2074: Billings Mustangs 2075: Iowa Cubs 2076: Columbia Fireflies 2077: Clearwater Threshers 2078: Pulaski Yankees 2079: West Michigan Whitecaps 2080: St. Lucie Mets 2081: Williamsport Crosscutters 2082: Omaha Storm Chasers 2083: Danville Braves |

2084 Season:
The SEATTLE MARINERS were world champions, defeating the Houston Astros in 5 games. The BROOKLYN CYCLONES were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 51-111, 4 games behind the Ogden Raptors for last place. 123 teams remain in Major League Baseball... In Memoriam: Brooklyn Cyclones Low A- New York Mets Low A Teams Remaining: 10 Mets Affiliates Remaining: 1/6 All Time Record: 5047-5773 (.450) Best Season: 2079, 98-64, 10th place Best Hitter: Josh Slawson (2051-2061) Slawson was one of the best defensive left fielders of all time. A first round pick in 2048, Slawson won his first of 9 Gold Gloves in his rookie season of 2052. He could hit too, holding a .833 career OPS with 464 home runs. He put it all together in 2056, when he had a .390 OBP, hit 35 home runs, and was worth 8.1 WAR. He later played 5 years with Cincinnati and one with Las Vegas before retiring in 2067. The Veterans Committee later inducted him into the Hall of Fame. Best Pitcher: Chris Herriges (2066-2076) Very few pitchers have been able to thrive in Brooklyn, and just because Herriges was the best, it doesn't mean he was particularly good. A second rounder out of Kent State, he started strong by making 30 starts with a 3.75 ERA as a 24-year-old in 2069. The following year he lowered his ERA to 3.05 and won 14 games. But thanks to his incredibly low strikeout totals, his success was not sustainable. Though not missing a start for 7 consecutive seasons, Herriges never struck out more than 165 batters in his time in Brooklyn, posting a 4.26 ERA. He later signed with the Orioles and won back-to-back World Series in 2077 and 2078 despite being injured for the majority of both seasons. Now 40, he currently pitches for Oakland and is coming off perhaps his most impressive season in years. Notes: Tacoma RF Ernesto Rebolledo led the league with a .375 batting average. Gwinnett SS Luis Murillo led the league with 55 home runs. The White Sox also have a slugger named Luis Murillo. He led the league with a 1.058 OPS. It's quite possible that the two best hitters in the league both have the same name. Fresno 3B Pat Hatfield led the league with 8.3 WAR. Round Rock SP Juan Ortega missed out on his third straight Cy Young, but he still led the league with a 2.30 ERA and 2.15 FIP. NW Arkansas SP Mike Scarborough won Cy Young after leading the league with 330 strikeouts. Padres SP Jeremy Dumornay threw 5 shutouts. They were the first 5 shutouts of his 8-year career. White Sox SP Jon Coronado finished outside the top 3 in Cy Young voting, but he still struck out 312 batters to cross the 3000 barrier. Just 32 years old, he could challenge all time records. The Fresno Grizzlies were the best MiLB team, going 102-60 and finishing in 3rd place. The Oakland A's were the worst MLB team, going 71-91 and finishing in 104th place. Teams eliminated: 2018: Princeton Rays 2019: Bristol Pirates 2020: Aberdeen Ironbirds 2021: Hickory Crawdads 2022: Mobile Bay Bears 2023: Reading Fightin Phils 2024: Bowie Baysox 2025: Potomac Nationals 2026: Biloxi Shuckers 2027: Lake Elsinore Storm 2028: Grand Junction Rockies 2029: South Bend Cubs 2030: Modesto Nuts 2031: Tri-City Valley Cats 2032: Reno Aces 2033: Staten Island Yankees 2034: Portland Sea Dogs 2035: Lexington Legends 2036: Batavia Muckdogs 2037: Frederick Keys 2038: Hillsboro Hops 2039: Tri-City Dust Devils 2040: Tennessee Smokies 2041: Norfolk Tides 2042: Vancouver Canadians 2043: Buffalo Bisons 2044: Jupiter Hammerheads 2045: Eugene Emeralds 2046: Myrtle Beach Pelicans 2047: New Orleans Baby Cakes 2048: Hagerstown Suns 2049: Sacramento River Cats 2050: Corpus Christi Hooks 2051: Salem Red Sox 2052: Kane County Cougars 2053: Jackson Generals 2054: Lake County Captains 2055: Bradenton Marauders 2056: Stockton Ports 2057: Dunedin Blue Jays 2058: Everett Aqua Sox 2059: Johnson City Cardinals 2060: Idaho Falls Chukars 2061: Toledo Mud Hens 2062: Springfield Cardinals 2063: Charleston RiverDogs 2064: Asheville Tourists 2065: Peoria Chiefs 2066: Lowell Spinners 2067: Las Vegas 51s 2068: Binghamton Rumble Ponies 2069: Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 2070: Lakeland Flying Tigers 2071: Richmond Flying Squirrels 2072: Cedar Rapids Kernels 2073: Augusta GreenJackets 2074: Billings Mustangs 2075: Iowa Cubs 2076: Columbia Fireflies 2077: Clearwater Threshers 2078: Pulaski Yankees 2079: West Michigan Whitecaps 2080: St. Lucie Mets 2081: Williamsport Crosscutters 2082: Omaha Storm Chasers 2083: Danville Braves 2084: Brooklyn Cyclones |

Can't wait to see which team gets dropped next. They will fill the last planned spot in one of my leagues, most likely. CD out.
