Force Role: Bench Player/Platoon Player

On the Player Strategy page, I'd LOVE for their to be an option to make a player a non-starter. I frequently get a player that my manager inexplicably loves and will start over almost every better player available. If that guy is versatile, I end up needing to Force Start at almost every position, which can screw up platoons among other things. If I could just say, "keep this guy on the bench" it would be so much better. (This also would work if the guy's really pretty good, but his versatility means I'd rather have him staring every few days at multiple positions than starting every day at one.)
A more complicated improvement, but even better, would be if you could both choose a starting position, and then choose "Vs LHP" "Vs RHP" or "All situations."

I've been asking for this for years!

I know you can use the "bench player for X days" option but if I want him available, just not starting, then Force Start > Bench would make so much more sense.

Right. I want the guy to be available to play off the bench. Heck, I want him to start when the other guy is tired, or even let the manager start him every few days.

Yes, this!

Especially for minor league players.

Especially for guys you want to play multiple positions.

Even better would be to be able to designate a guy's playing time
Say 50% at 2B, 25% at 3B and 25% in LF

It's so tedious micromanaging minor league rosters. But the GM should be able to say "I want this guy playing multiple positions"

excellent idea
Among these (forced) options, the following should be taken into account:
1-Bench player (a player that is taken into account only as such)
2- Utility INF / OF (which is the player we want from the bank in multiple positions either OF or INF)
3- some option not to take into account the headlines in the depth chart.
