Expansion Problem

Background: I'm trying to set up a fictional league. Began with 30 teams and have been simming to create some league history. Every 5 years I've added 2 teams and am at the point where I'd like to jump in and take over one of the last expansion teams (15 years in, adding teams 35 and 36).

It's the offseason, I've expanded the league. When I've simmed it, everything has gone smoothly. Now that I'm controlling one of the teams I've run into the problem that the game cannot find the expansion draft. It annouces that it is the day of the draft and won't let me progress forward until I do it, but when it prompts me it sends me to the general league draft. I cannot find a link to the expansion draft on any of the league menus and there are no hotlinks in the messages from the game.

I think that I confused the game by having my entry draft in December, within approx a week from where I'm stuck.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd rather not start over or pursue my other idea - removing myself from the GM role and simming ahead a day, giving up control of the draft.
