Until I get a pack that way... I am sticking with it being an urban legend. I still haven't gotten one. This way I can start my own OOTP conspiracy theories

1. New historical game
2. Enable challenge mode
3. Set year to 1927
4. Pick the Yankees
5. Lazily sim week to week
6. Enjoy your pack when it pops (may take a couple attempts at a season)
7. Repeat in 72 hours

Thank you very much for this. Took me two seasons but I finally got the free pack. Didn't get much in the pack but I need all of the points I can get thank you

I'm sort of hoping they remove this from OOTP PT 2020 and just have a pack reward every 3 days as a log in bonus or something. It gets a little irritating to have to go through this sim for multiple teams - even though its fairly quick and easy.

I did as instructed. About halfway through the first season. A farm team for the Cincinnati Reds had 8 active players and killed my simulation.

Don't use minors and don't select "require full minor league rosters"

Yup, keep it simple. Even turn off all notifications. You don't even need to bother putting guys on the DL since there aren't any reserves anyway. Just turn off all the notifications under Manager Options.

So I did as mentioned. Played as the Yankees for the 1927 season. Last game of the season. bottom of the 9th, tied score. Yankees have to win to make the world series. Ruth is at bat, strikes out with the bases loaded. The mighty 1927 Yankees finish in second place to the Philadelphia Athletics. Oh and while getting all sorts of achievements, no free pack. but Babe Ruth did get hurt a lot and Lou Gehrig missed 2 games. Lol, my stand that free packs can be earned this way is just an urban legend stands. Sigh.

You may have to play a couple of seasons but if you want, run with the urban legend thing. Some folks also believe the moon landing was staged in Arizona....

This thread is true. Tried it on all 3 of my accounts just as was explained above with the 1927 yankees and I got 3 free 1k packs out of it. The first account I had to sim two seasons, the second and third accounts I had to sim till the end of the first season.

I am big enough to admit when I was wrong. There was more to the season! The Yankees won and won the World Series. I was called an OOTP God with a score on 1002 and got my regular pack.

I will now open the pack and see if I got anything good.

Not really sure why you are taking a shot here. Just takes a few minutes to get it done. I don't put any money into the game to buy packs so my team is at a disadvantage in this game so anything I can do like this to get a pack or two for free I will try out. If someone wants to try to get a pack let them. If you don't want to waste your time trying to get a pack then no need to do it or to respond in the thread.

The proliferation of achievements in games works against this argument, since they appear to be a successful mechanic used to keep player interest longer.

Shoot, the entire Idle genre of gaming is nothing more than many different versions of achievement simulators

We're talking about a few minutes here, not some major investment. Have you never played any game where you do something unfun because it enables you to have fun elsewhere? I think of it like grinding/leveling in an RPG, only infinitely less tedious.
