COLLEGE SCHEDULE REQUEST for GMO

Hello,

Okay, I know I may be asking the impossible. I would like a college schedule that is heavily weighted towards divisional play. Meaning teams in their respective divsions play each other more than outside teams.

My college league is comprised of 1 league, 34 divisions (conferences), 307 total teams. The total number of scheduled games is 62 with a season start date of February 15th with an all-star date.

My league structure is as follows:

Number of Divisions = 34
Div1 = 7
Div2=6
Div3=6
Div4=11
Div5=14
Div6=13
Div7=10
Div8=10
Div9=10
Div10=9
Div11=11
Div12=9
Div13=7
Div14=8
Div15=9
Div16=12
Div17=9
Div18=7
Div19=9
Div20=7
Div21=9
Div22=9
Div23=10
Div24=6
Div25=6
Div26=6
Div27=11
Div28=12
Div29=10
Div30=12
Div31=8
Div32=7
Div33=8
Div34-9

Thanks in advance!

It could be possible with only division games.

I would figure generally 2-game series, with typically two per week.

Sounds good. Much appreciation if you can do that for me.

Would 64 games be okay? I think that would help simplify things, allowing for always 16 home 2-game series and 16 away 2-game series.

Now that I have the components all made I have finally counted up the total number of teams. I get 305 teams as opposed to the stated 307 total. Do you have all the divisions correct?

Thanks GMO for spotting my error, Division 16 has 12 teams as opposed to the aforementioned 10. Total teams are 307.
Div16=12 teams

Thanks again for your efforts

Excellent! Now emphasis will be placed on divisional games in my College league. Thanks GMO! You're the best!

I have copied these exact settings into a college league I wanted to create..

Can anyone tell me why I am getting this error message ...
"Could not import schedule. The loaded schedule has a different structure as the current league."

I am trying to import into OOTP 16 ...

Thanks in advance!

Check to see that your college league structure is an exact match.

Make sure that the "balanced schedule" and "interleague" settings in your league options menu match the values in the schedule's elements line.

In-game under options/schedule settings do you have the right start date and day. What about balanced schedule (it's not)?

One other obscure thing. Check under League and Teams for sub-league/division. I found that in my leagues the PCL is set as a single sub league and 4 divisions but the OOTP supplied schedules for recent versions have the PCL set as 2 sub-leagues with 2 divisions. These schedules give the same error message.

You may have checked this already. FWIW.

Not sure I understand what you mean in bold. Should I be setting up the league in a manner different than 1 sub-league? I also thought that maybe inter-league was a problem, but I do not see an option anywhere to take away inter-league play as an option... The "balanced schedule" boxes and others are all marked correctly, including the start date...

How do I make adjustments to this? Maybe that is the issue?

I also tried removing spring training and all-star game, but to no avail ....

FYI- I requested this schedule 6 years ago for my college feeder. The number of teams and divisional alignment has to be exactly the same as what I requested. The setting has to be 1 sub-league and divisions as listed..

No I'm not asking you to do anything, I'm trying to point you towards the problem. If you look where I said you may see that your league structure doesn't match the schedule structure. That explains the error message. Unfortunately I don't have a solution. Sorry.

Edit: I think ashantewarrior is saying the same thing.

Yep. i understand that... And i thought I had copied it precisely..

1-SubLeague, 34 Divisions, correct number of teams per division as listed... But alas, same error message...

Was hoping you guys might could help, as I graduated from a DII school and played baseball there, and really want to setup this league with all DII teams .... But I just cant figure out the problem...

I appreciate everyone that is chiming in... and will continue to take any advice you all might have as I continue to try and work out the kinks
