Player Left My Team Under Contract

I signed a player, Adam Bokvist, to a two year contract on June 25th, 2020. Then, on June 30th, 2021, after only one season with me, he signed with Brynas IF of the Swedish league, and is no longer on my team.

If you signed him on June 20, the first "year" of the contract would've been for the few days remaining in the 2019-2020 season, which lasts until the end of June. The only exception is players who are 18 or 19, whose contracts would slide and keep the extra year since they didn't play 10 games in the NHL that year. Bokvist, though, would've been 20 when you signed him.
