NHL Season Completion Save File
With hockey on hiatus everywhere, we decided to create a way for you to continue the real 2019-20 NHL season to its conclusion.
http://ootpbeta.ootpdevelopments.com/NHL_2019-2020.zip This is a custom-mode save game with just the NHL and AHL active, so it plays very quickly. We advanced it normally to March 12, then stopped and replaced all the NHL stats and standings that had been generated with the real-life numbers. Rosters are as accurate as possible as of March 12, including injuries and a few rating adjustments. To use it, just unzip the contents of the file into your regular FHM save folder and load the "NHL 2019-2020" save as you would with one of your own saves. If you want to take over a team after loading the save, go to the Manager menu and retire the "Joe Average" default GM, then click continue and you'll get the setup screens to create a new GM for yourself, and take whichever job you want. A few things to note about the save: -This is intended to simulate the remaining season as it would've been played, not any hypothetical resumption or alternate playoff setup. -It is absolutely not intended for play beyond the end of the 2019-20 season, we took a few shortcuts with the data that will do some odd things if you continue past June 30. -The AHL, while present, isn't intended to be playable or an accurate continuation of the the real AHL season. We just included it to get a large farm player pool for the NHL. It has no player stats and the standings aren't the real 2019-20 AHL standings. -Because of the way season stats are stored, wiping the fictional game results leaves some player stats screens - mainly the ones based on roster-type views (e.g. League-Stats-Player Stats) - with all the stats at 0 and will only accumulate stats from March 12 onwward. The goal number in box scores is affected by this, so e.g. Ovechkin's next goal will appears as "Alexander Ovechkin (1,ES)", not "Alexander Ovechkin (49,ES)". Individual player screens and the leaderboards will still have full season stats, though. -Players only have stats from 2019-20, there are no career stats. For that reason, milestones will not work normally. If you turn the talent-from-stats option on, we suggest using settings of 50% stats percentage, 67% for the current season, 33% from last season (this will actually result in 100% weighting for current season stats, since the last season's stats are all 0 in this game) -Since the AI had control of the teams up to the date of the save, some numbers and captains will be inaccurate as the AI made its own choices in those areas. -Unfortunately, we won't be able to do a version of this save for all the playable leagues; getting just the NHL working properly took us longer than we expected, and other leagues, some of which were into their playoffs already, would've been even messier. Messier is bad. We tried to make this as accurate as possible, but if anyone would like to improve on it with some additional editing to the save and share their versions, please go ahead. Finally, we anticipate releasing a hotfix update for the game in the next week or so to deal with a few issues that have been found with 6.7.74. Thanks again for your support, and please stay safe. |

Operating on a Macbook here, with OS Catalina 10.15.3, and I'm having difficulty getting this save into my saved_games folder.
I downloaded the .zip file, but when I try to expand it, I get the message "Error 22 - Invalid Argument", and it is unable to be opened. Anybody else have this issue and find a work around? Any ideas why this might be happening? |

Is anyone working on a release of the NHL as it stands today......similar to this file, but with the "pre-playoffs" followed by the playoffs as they are scheduled in real life?
Thanks |
