Surprising news. But glad he is doing it to protect his long term health. He wasn't the same player this year and I wondered if it was due to the 3-4 Rivera installed or if he was hiding an injury.

Niners are getting 10 yds a carry. If a team got 10yds per pass attempt they would deem their OC a genius.

Garapolo 17 total completions 27 total attempts in the playoffs.
Mahomes 23 of 35 in BOTH postseason games.

San Fran 471 yds rushing/ KC 608 yds passing.

Niners are , of course, going to want to control the ball. Thing is, ball control doesn't matter to the Chiefs. This game reminds me of the Giants/Bills SB.

I don't favor either team. I'm just glad the patriots aren't there again.
I think San Fran is a more complete team than KC. This game looks to me like one of those games that look like it should be a close game but it ends up a blow out.
I just see the 49er defense going after Mahomes and Sherman shutting down one side of the field. I see the 49er ground game opening up a big lead and KC coming back but it will be too late.

No matter what happened this week, or even last week, the season was a success for Green Bay considering the past two seasons. I know a lot of people like to pin playoff losses on the QB, but I think I read that the defense gave up an average of 37 points in those losses.

As for the Super Bowl, I'm just glad New England isn't in it. I think the 49ers win.

I picked the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl before the season started and I'm sticking with that pick.

Speaking of female coaches, the 49ers are the first team to make a Super Bowl with one (Katie Sowers)

I think I will always remember Rodgers for not diving for his fumbled snap. He just stood there and watched. That says a lot about him and his character.

Hes a me, me player. This weekend game was all about revenge on the 49ers, whenever he fumbles he hardly breaks sweat to recover it. Hes never sat right with me from the second he was drafted, looking dissapointed he wasnt drafted by San Francisco and drafted by the Packers instead, which may have been the case but you try to cover it up. Saying that though most of the Packer faithful think he walks on water.

Agree completely. Anytime you make it to the conference championship game you have had a very successful season. I just get aggravated when people say, anytime Rodgers is there anything is possible. No it isn't. I don't think this beatdown was a surprise to anyone other than Packers fans.

Of course anything is possible. We just had a mediocre titans team with ryan tannehill beat the patriots and crush the ravens on the road.

They were a touchdown underdog, going to lose most of the time but could pull it out if some things go right and they get a favorable bounce here and call there.

But it's much more interesting to come up with narratives to explain everything.

I think people are too quick to judge Cam for every minor thing he does. Then neglect to apply the same attitude to players they like who do the same exact thing. Every QB who has ever played has had a moment when they didn't dive for a loose ball.

I have no doubt that every player has his bad moments. But in the super bowl? That was inexcusable.

Yeah, yeah. Super Bowl or NFC title game. Really? People are going to split hairs on that? Like I've said before, selective morality. Super Bowl = mountain. Conference title game = moe hill. Seriously.

I dont get too upset with a qb not diving for a fumble unless it's like the last drive or something like that.
I would rather not risk the qb getting hurt in a collision. Sure I'd like to keep the ball but losing Rodgers for the game would be worse.
Yeah I know a qb can hurt on any play but it just looks like fumble recoveries are a bit more dangerous for QBs. However I havent done any research on it so I could be wrong.
It just seems like the qbs like Rodgers are taught
not to dive for fumbles. Or it could just be Rodgers's ego

QB's are taught to protect themselves. That they are too important to lose. It's no surprise when their first instinct is to hesitate. I've got no problem with that. I've also have no problem with those other fans expecting them to dive in head first either. JUST BE CONSISTENT. If Cam disgusts people for doing it, call out A-Rod. If they don't even give a 2nd thought to Rodgers for doing it, then don't call out Cam for it 5 years later. Fans are showing what they are when there is a different standard.
