Playing the Game, Ideas

I only play the game as a manager and replay entire seasons, well only one season so far. I was wondering from all the experts, what would be a good direction for me to take for a next step with the game?

I just feel I might be missing something.

Thanks for any ideas.

... or playing fictional.

I used to play strictly historical until about 4 years ago and I hate how much fun I missed.

Setting up a league with the number of teams you like, working on logos, caps and jerseys so that they are the way you like them (or simply taking them from the endless supply in the mods area) - I bet you'll like it!

I love playing current roster then playing onward. After about 10 seasons you will find you are using more and more fictional players. I started in 2012 and now in season 2078 … Lost a few seasons when I forgot to back up the game I would be in late 2090s early 2100s by now if I didn't lose the seasons

This. And I'll always do some expanding or contracting at the beginning, and then expand as it moves along. I'm currently playing one that started in 2014 that's now in 2035, with 40 teams.

all of this^.

started mine in 14, league is now almost a third to half fictional & felt organic. I love seeing my drafts picks from later rounds make the MLB roster or advance through minors while the watching real players play out their careers.

I play out every game so maybe only 12-15 years in but wouldn't change anything. the beauty of this game is carrying dynasties over from one version to the next.

I've tried simming games in an online leagues & just couldn't get into it. felt no connection with my team. not sure how the sim guys do it.
