Effect of Team Needs combined with trade delegation?

I'm looking for more info on exactly what happens as a result of the "Team Needs" screen, and couldn't find anything about it in either the in-game help or online manual. Also, it seems that the word "needs" is too short or common to be used in a forum search (but "team" isn't? Weird).

Specifically, I want to know what happens when there are needs added and also "Initiate/react to trades" is delegated to the assistant GM. Does one override the other to any extent? Will more trades occur if needs are added? Will the assistant GM still make a normal amount of trades if all needs are deleted? Does the assistant GM ever add or delete needs himself, or can this be done only by the player?

I like to play in a very "hands-off" role that's more like an owner than GM, basically I just delegate everything and limit myself to replacing the manager and/or assistant GM if things really start to go bad (probably sounds super boring to most of you, but we all have our own playstyle, lol). But I'm not sure if I'm accidentally interfering with the game more than I intended. I have a couple of needs listed on that screen, but I can't remember if I added them myself at some point while tinkering around, or if they got added automatically due to trades being delegated. Halfway through the current season, my team has conducted more trades than all other teams combined, and I'm wondering if this is the reason why.

This is a very interesting question. I've not seen any discussion about how team needs and delegation interact - and I don't have any personal experience to share as I always handle trades myself.

My experience with filling out team needs is that it causes me to receive an email or two per month from other GM's not offering a trade, but suggesting that I try trading for one of his players who matches one of my needs. I have not noticed any difference in the actual trade proposals I have received.

The Assistant GM never adds or deletes from this list to my knowledge.
