Is This Correct?

Just looked at an OOTP boxscore and saw that a player had a double with the bases loaded and ONLY 1 RBI. I checked the game log and saw that the double was a walk-off with the bases loaded (the game was tied before his at bat). Would this have really been ruled a double? Maybe a grounds-rule double, I thought, but still only 1 RBI? Would a regular double have been scored a single instead in a real-life walk-off situation?

Your thoughts.

You are correct. The batter would have only been credited with a single in this situation since the winning run would have scored before the batter reached second. Once the winning run scores, any bases that the batter advances to should not count. If it had been a ground rule double, I think he should have been credited with 2 rbi's. Of course, had it been a walk off grand slam, the batter would have been credited with 4 rbi's even though only the first was necessary for the win. In these latter two cases, the batted ball left the field of play and should be scored accordingly.
So, I am not sure what happened in your game. The 1 rbi credited makes sense but the double does not unless, of course, it was a ground rule double. In that case, he should have had 2 rbi's though.
I guess I have no idea

See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walk-off_home_run under "relevant rules." Note the Babe Ruth example.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

If you kept the detail submit it as a bug. Markus is good about fixing scoring stuff like this.
