Using the historical simulation features to create "customized" leagues
So, I'd really like to have a simulation that recreates most of the features from the real world. I realize that the game engine is limited in many (minor) respects, and I can deal with that, but I want to create an alternative world that's fairly close to the real thing. In other words, I'd like to start in the 19th century, and sim though until the present day, but with more than just MLB: I'd like to see The Japanese Baseball League appear in 1936, for example; I'd also like to see minor league teams follow their historical development, as well.
I imagine that there's a way to do this with the lahman database files, which the game uses to recreate some version of history currently. I'm very familiar with editing the lahman db, so adding things isn't really a problem. I'm just curious if anyone has any kind of experience with doing this? Is there any advice that you can offer? Thanks.

Why couldn't I add team id's to lahman?
The game just reads the csv files that you point it towards, correct?

They will all be MLB teams. If that is what you wish then there you are.

Damn.
Is there any way to create a set up outside of the game and import it? The game's editing tools are extensive, but they're tedious for large editing work, as well. I thought about editing the .wtp files directly, and I even poked around in them with a hex editor, but... I have a full time job already, so I don't really have time to reverse engineer their file format. heh
