Batting Stats - yearly splits bug?
I'm trying to figure out the stats in the yearly stats split...
This player has 424 AB for the year. Of those 424 ABs: 25 were with runner in scoring position. 40 with bases empty. 9 with runner on 1st. 7 with runner on 2nd. 1 with runner on 3rd. 10 with runner on 1st & 2nd. 2 with runner on 1st & 3rd. 2 with runner on 2nd & 3rd. 3 with bases loaded.... where did the other 300+ ABs go? This is for a league that I imported from v14 to v15.

It's only 74 AB.
Notice that innings 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, extra add up to 74. Notice that road and away add up to 74. 0,1,2 outs adds up to 74. 25 were with runner in scoring position. 40 with bases empty. 9 with runner on 1st adds up to 74. (the other numbers are not additional at bats, they are different views of runners in scoring position.) 7 with runner on 2nd. 1 with runner on 3rd. 10 with runner on 1st & 2nd. 2 with runner on 1st & 3rd. 2 with runner on 2nd & 3rd. 3 with bases loaded.... adds up to 25. That's the same 25 in the "runners in scoring position" The screen's filter says by "Batting versus Team" Dividing the total at bats by 7 looks a lot like 1/7th of the league (the 1896 NL was 8 teams). 424/7= 61, which is fairly close to 74. Could this just be a look at his splits for one team? Last edited by Drstrangelove; 08-08-2014 at 04:26 PM. |

I'm trying to add up AB to 424? runners on base in all situations + empty bases is not equaling 424?!

Some things that come to mind.
What is the "League Scope" filter set to? The selected view is "batting at all levels". Is it possible he had ABs at another level or league that doesn't save the same detailed stats? Could you have somehow changed the detail level of stats you wanted saved during the season? Either one could result in total ABs being correct because that is saved in all detail settings while some splits may only be saved in leagues saving "high details". |

He's in the same league but is on a new team (chg'd teams during offseason). Stats level for lg is still set to Very High Detail. But it's not just this player, it's all the players in the league. With majority not changing teams.

Looks like game log data was lost, although strangely it's not all of the game logs.
The career data is probably fine, but I'm not sure how the game stores game log data during a season. It's possible that individual splits are kept separately in a temp file (until the season ends) where it's updated after each game or game day so users don't have to recompile each time they look for split data. Then it's rolled into one season line at the end of a season (12/31/xx or whenever "off season" starts.) If the data is recompiled at that point---or if it had been recompiled when the conversion was done--- (rather than simply copied from the temp file) and some logs are missing at that point, then it won't correctly tabulate. It's possible the logs were not missing but simply not in the place or format that the conversion expected as well. Conversions during active games in general can be tricky and I know I've lost on-going games, e.g. when Civ 5, Close Combat had conversions. Did you change folders or do the conversion while in a season? If it was during a season this would make some sense. If it was at the end of a season (12/31) and you didn't change folder names, I'm baffled. Last edited by Drstrangelove; 08-09-2014 at 12:12 PM. |

I imported from v14 in Jan of 1897 (during the league's offseason).
Went back to v14 and noticed the missing ABs seem to be there.

another question related to batting splits... are the prev season splits not saved once a new season starts? I am in preseason 1897 and all the splits now are gone for all players (shows nothing).

I've had the same problem. Overall stats are fine but home and away only total 10 games in all and various others (ahead in count, behind in count and batting position are limited.
