Could this happen in American sports?

Honestly I've never heard this happening in any sport, when I read it I thought Kareem Hunt and the Browns. Just wondering the way the worlds going will this happen more often. |

Some leagues have rules that franchises cant sue each other. Didnt stop Al Davis. But the rule was there.

Rugby League must be a great game to survive the fools who run it!

Rugby League as far as I'm concerned is one of the worst if not the worst run sports specially in England, they tried to expand into London and failed, then France which is failing and now the brains trust are trying Canada. They play a cup final in London at Wembley in a 80,000 capacity stadium which they dont fill, most of the fans travel 4 hours to get there. This is when they have a 60,000 capacity stadium which they do fill in the league final which is within 90 minutes of most fans.

I think the issue with Folau is his repeated public statements which don't seem to have ended, so I'm not surprised they're worried about sponsors

I have watched Rugby League since 1977 and the overall management of the game has never been as bad. Wembley used to be a great weekend away for the supporters, I agree it should be moved north. Expansion over the years (Mansfield, Kent Invicta, Nottingham, Cardiff) hasn't worked over the years but the RFL continue to try, development in the Heartlands is more or less non-existent. Cumbria's local development system now sees young players signing for Newcastle. Don't get me start on the Super Duper League, it destroyed my club (Workington Town). We were 'sold' Summer Rugby League, the league now starts in February. Nowadays, I don't attend internationals or Wembley which line the RFL pockets, I watch my local teams (Workington and Wath Brow in the NCL) and subscribe to NRLWatch, I can watch the best players and league in the world. Rant over....... As for Forau, it has become clear in the last few days what the SL Chairmen are most bothered about, not his decisive comments, but how much money they are going to lose as people will stay away when Catalans visit. |

Nope. There is another reason why nobody signed Kaepernick. We all know what it is.

Bit of an update, seems everyones been told not to comment on it. Also some teams have designated games against him as celebrating disabled, women, lesbian etc. |

Did you all read the same article I did?
The man is a racist, and this is prompting other teams to threaten lawsuits and to not play. The SAME THING happened in 1947, when Mort and Walker Cooper of the St. Louis Cardinals threatened to not play the Dodgers, when Jackie Robinson was in his rookie season. The other teams went after the Cards, and there were many lawsuit mentions thrown around. A team, and a league, has the absolute right to protect their investments. Consider the case of the sex offender drafted this last year, out of Oregon. The backlash was so severe that the team was forced to drop the player. Consider what would happen if Antonio Brown was caught raping a woman...would any NFL team be allowed to sign him to a contract? No issue here, move along. |
