Trouble Finding My Custom Nation
Hi all,
First post here and I'm hoping you can help, I'm stuck! I'm trying to build a custom nation from scratch using the world_default guides I've found on this site, but for whatever reason I can't seem to find my newly created nation whenever I try and start a new custom game. I've checked the XML file countless times for errors and can't locate anything (I've tried using failed code in the past and always received load errors when I tried to start a custom game, so I assume the lack of any error message means the XML file is correct?), my flag is set-up correctly, and I've edited the ethnicities_txt file to also include my custom country (essentially a duplicate of Canada). Is there something I'm missing? Some unknown step or setting that I'm overlooking? The only thing I can think of is that my nation only has 16 cities right now, so maybe there's a minimum city count for a country to be available? PS- I'm also on a mac playing through Steam, I'm not sure if that helps with any of these issues, but figured it's worth a try. |

Are your nation's cities in a state? If they aren't, that is probably the reason your nation isn't showing up. Grouping your cities into a single state should help your nation appear. Even a single-city nation like Singapore needs the state field.
Does that help? |

Solved - my issue was the city ID numbers, apparently the list of next IDs I had found was for 2015 and hadn't been updated so the duplicate city IDs broke the whole import. Oddly enough there was no error message?
In any case, resolved! |
