The American Circuit Returns

Back before OOTP allowed promotion/relegation, there was the American Circuit. Well, its on the way back!

You likely can figure out the location of all clubs by their name.

While promotion/relegation has been included in OOTP for a few versions now, we'll continue to do it our way from the past -- a points system.

Each club plays the other 7 in their tier a total of 4 series. Each series is the equivalent of a soccer game. Each series is played on Fri/Sat/Sun to free up the weekdays for Tier/Circuit Cup matches. There will also be a circuit cup where all 24 clubs participate as well as three Tier Cups for each level.

POINTS SYSTEM:
Win the series = 3 points
Sweep = 4 points
Lose the series, but win one of the first TWO games = 1 point.

PROMOTION/RELGATION:
Top team in T2 and T3 is promoted.
2nd and 3rd place in those tiers playoff for promotion.
Bottom team in T1 and T2 is relegated.
6th and 7th place in those tiers playoff to avoid relegation.

The financial system is entirely outside of the game EXCEPT for contract extensions.

RULES PAGE -- no links working on that page yet.
A few things will change in the rules, but 99% remain. Those are the rules from 2011. For instance, we will use a hard cap and I'll keep all the financials on a spreadsheet for you outside the game. There will be hometown discounts, etc. built into the financials among a few other things.

Offseason FA will be done auction style and players will be added to the FA pool to take the place of an ammy draft.

Anyone with interest in this different way of doing promotion/relegation should email their interest (list three clubs) to cooley@american-circuit.net
Please include your years playing OOTP. I've been around since v2 with a v14-17 timeout. I have commish experience.

If there's sufficient interest, I can put out a league file rather quickly. I am working on rosters at the moment. The league will use my historical names set from years ago (league starts in '50). If there's not enough interest, I'll put it on the shelf for now. I can say this, the league was a blast back 7 versions ago when it started.

Website is being finalized.

Get in on the ground floor of a league that does promotion/relegation like no one else. Email me as per above.
