The National Association 1858 has an opening for 1891

The National Association of Professional Base Ball Players, the NAPBBP has an opening for the 1891 season, our 5th year and 34th season as a league. We began play in 2011 in 1858.

The league has reached July 1st, 1891 on the league schedule.If you'd like to check them out, there are some live sim videos on-line, something new I started the past few months. They can be found on the twitch.tv link below. There will be another live sim tonight Feb 3rd at 9:00 p.m CST. They are a live talk-radio style sim with talk about the pennant races, draft pool and other league business in between the play by play of a few season games. I also stream game play once a week with music to give guys a chance to see their teams actual game play. Past broadcasts are only saved for about a week. GM's can interact with the live sim via our Slack Chat.

We are a 32 team hybrid historical league, based on historical franchises with some additions. Also, other owners are sometimes open to swapping franchise cities so you may have an opportunity to get the team city you want down the road since teams do relocate and I try to get owners their favorite franchise. I am also open to allowing the team to relocate after the season to Arizona, Colorado, Tampa Bay, Santo Domingo DR, or another city not currently being used that had a historical ML level franchise. The team currently available is either the Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners or Baltimore Orioles depending on who joins and what team they may want.

The league is a fit for newcomers or seasoned gamers with a very fun dedicated group of competitive owners. We do not sim every day, but sim 2 weeks of game time every 2-3 days. We may go to another schedule once we reach the 1900's but for now we are trying to move seasons along more quickly. Full scouting is on, coaching is on, ratings are 1-100 with stars. Statistical baseline is based on the entire history of MLB to give better comparatives over eras, so no deadball/lively ball swings. Any other questions on game settings, just let me know.

The project started as a research project for a screenplay I wrote and for a novel I am writing, both historical what-ifs, so it will be around...well, forever probably, as far as league longevity. We incorporate historical rookies for our June Amateur Draft along with Negro League players and others. As a consequence, I am only the Commissioner and do not own a team in the league, so unlike many on-line leagues out there, it truly is your league. Thanks everyone, appreciate all the inquiries and questions! Anyone who wants to check out one of our live sims tonight at 9:00 p.m. CST, click the league Twitch TV link above. Live sims on the weekend are done talk radio style with some league commentary, topics of interest such as the upcoming draft pool, rule changes, etc, and a few live game plays.Replays of recent past sims can be viewed as well. Sims run during the week are streamed with music only, no voice commentary.
