Oddly Low Player Ratings in Historical Mode

I've noticed that in historical mode around 2000-2004 there are a lot of older players who have really low ratings even though they were still quite good.

For example, on the 2002-03 Toronto Maple Leafs:
- Alexander Mogilny - 2 stars (in real life he led the Leafs in points and won the Lady Byng)
- Mikael Renberg - 2 stars (still had 35 points in 67 games that season)
- Robert Reichel - 2.5 stars (again, had 42 points in 81 games)
- Gary Roberts - 2.5 stars (had 8 points in 14 games, had 28 goals the next season)
- Shayne Corson - 2.5 stars (not a terrible rating, he wasn't a great player at this point, but he's still a serviceable NHL bottom 6 forward, not a total scrub)
- Travis Green - 2.5 stars (again, he had 24 points in 75 games and was a great two way player, he should at least get a 3.0 rating)
- Jonas Hoglund - 2.5 stars (had 32 points in 79 games; he wasn't great but still was a 3rd line NHL calibre player at least)

They aren't the only team either. For example, on Philadelphia, John LeClair is only 2.5 stars (28 points in 35 games), or Sami Kapanen of Carolina is only 2.5 stars (31 points in 71 games that season, 69 points in 77 games the season before).

I'm sure there are more cases as well, but these are just a few I noticed. It can just be annoying as the GM of a team when a bunch of your best players are scrubs that get stuck on your reserve team. It screws with the realism a lot.

Gary Roberts was my favorite player on the leafs and I recall that year quite well. Some players that were not roster players such as Josh Holden, Brad Leeb make it instead so I agree.

Keith Primeau on Philli, Joe Niewendyk on TOR are low too. The game underestimates some of the defensive side these players brought to the table. Though mogilny should be a pure 3 star for his offensive ability because he knew nothing of the meaning of defence. The second he stops scoring he's a 2 star. With time it will get tweaked to a certain degree. Most players you listed with the exception of Roberts are probably borderline 3 star in my mind. Green was the best faceoff man in the game at that time.

I still hate the leafs for letting Niewendyk and Roberts walk...that killed the team so they were big leadership characters and core players
