Ping Rolen - Question re Rolen's Roster Set

I note that the aging/development modifiers are set at:

Batting Aging: 1.0
Batting Development: 1.2
Pitching Aging: 3.0
Pitching Development: 4.0

Intuitively, the last two seem unusually high.

I have heard second hand that Erich has recommended pitching modifiers of 0.7 for aging and 0.8 for development.

I am about to kick off an online league and I would appreciate input on the appropriate modifiers to use.

The modifiers in the roster set were done based on what had been recommended here by someone. I think they are extremely high for pitching and I think that lowering them down would probably be a better choice or else you will see the Phillies dominating very quickly as their pitching tends to become fantastic and Homer Bailey from the Reds becomes a godlike pitcher among others within a few months.

So yes lower it down, but I don't have a guaranteed number at this point.

I heard those numbers were good. I'll see if I can find my source.

I have a question I thought I'd throw in here. I simulated a full season for interests sake and noticed that the computer did not do one trade, or send someone down on waivers. I think I have it all set up right so that trades and waivers will happen but I didn't see it happen. Is that an error on my part, or just an anomaly?

It is possible that AI moves are turned off on this set when you start it. You need to go to league setup and then at the bottom there is an other button (I think that is what it is callled, don't have the game open at the moment). Click that and enable AI roster moves.

And cause you guys are good, how do I get scouts? I can't seem to get scouts on my personnel list, or get anyone to scout players.

Disregard, I worked it out.

Do you have this source? I have my pitcher ratings set at 3 and 4 and I'm seeing Garza, Bailey, Zach Miner battling for Cy Young while Santana and Holiday are trying to keep their ERA's under 4. I don't have the game in front of me right now but I think my batters are set around .700 to .900 for those settings and I'm wondering now if that's a little low. Is there a place where there's some good discussion on these modifiers?
