New Historical League 1965

The Alternate History Baseball League AHBL will offer a rewriting of baseball history in the modern era. This league will explore all of the modern challenges of drafting, free agency, league expansion and out of control salaries and budgets. But everyone will start on equal financial footing.
If you're interested in a historic simulation league that will rewrite modern baseball history this is the right place. Alternate History Baseball League or AHBL will sim six years in one year of real life. Sims will be everyday for 7 days of play during the season and 14 days each day in offseason.
We will start with the year 1965 so that our first year will coincide with the first ever amateur player draft. We will have an inaugural draft with all real players, that means 20 teams. I would like to help run the league but don't have the experience to be the Commish. If you're interested in playing or even in being the Commish please respond here.

I've got a guy interested if we start in '45

'65 is a little to close to some of my other leagues. Ideally I'd like to start in 1901 but I'd settle for '45.

I would do 1945 but I thought there would be more interest in '65.

We're half way there. We need 8 more and we will have enough to start. That's in just two days. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Never been in a historical league but I might be game depending on the rules and if I can manage the Braves organization.

Right now I'm just determining who wants in for a new league the starting year will be either 1945 or 1965 depending upon what we want to do as a group. I'm interested in input from you on rules, what year to start and how we start the league.
We have 10 guys right now and I think in the next few days we'll have enough. One issue I see right away is a couple guys want the same team, obviously we can't since only 1 GM per team.
So while we're here let's make some suggestions concerning the league.

off the top of my head
i can really go either 45 or 65 i was wondering if we do 45 will some players who were fighting in WW2 be missed, williams dimaggio musial maybe 47 perhaps or 55?

if it is earlier we should definately have 2 divisions in each league which would create more excitement than the standard of the day one division one playoff team from each league

injuries off or very low for a few years as the minor league rosters will be short.

edit
musial missed 45
greenberg 42 -44
williams 43-45
dimaggio 43-45
feller 42-44

I'd be up for either start date. Hard to find historical leagues online.

If we do '45, I'd Like the Giants.

If '65 would like Mets.

What we need to do is sim up to when ever we start so all those guys that missed time in WWII are still there...also this will help fill the minors. If we start like we did in No Pepper, the minors will be practically empty.

If the minors are pretty full, Low injuries would work. Normal is just way too much IMO.

Breaking up the League into divisions is fine as long as were not trying to be "by the book" historical. Some guys are pretty picky when it comes to this.
