Happy anniversary! Now how about a team?

The JOBL is a 16-team fictional league formed in March 2002 (Happy 3rd Anniversary!), in our 15th season of play. Our great group of dedicated owners have a high level of participation, knowledge and competitiveness which makes the league what it is today: a stable, long-term league, rich in history, tradition and rivalries.

If that sounds interesting to you, well you’re in luck! Today, we have the Daphne River Cats franchise available to a new owner. With the River Cats, you’ll be taking over a team that features one of the best young pitchers in the game, Michael Hedden. The River Cats did make some deals this off-season to position themselves for a run at the Prairie Division pennant, but the mighty (but aging) Seattle Rainiers (my team) have been fending them off for the first two months of the 2016 season. Do you have what it takes to overtake the Rainiers, while also keeping an eye on the defending division champs, Houston?

If you are still interested, send me an email with a little information about yourself: name, age, primary email address and OOTP experience (other leagues, etc.). I’ll get back to you either way, although it will probably be a couple days in order to gather enough interest to make a solid decision for the league.

I was gonna say something mean about you Jason, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

JOBL is a solid league for anyone interested in a fictional league. Jason is a solid all around guy who knows what he's doing.

Interesting Daphne Story #1:

The River Cats starting first baseman (Pasqual Laroca) was originally drafted as a starting pitcher by Seattle in the 4th round of the 2009 amateur draft. The Rainiers successfully converted him to the field in 2011, where he went on to compile a .350 batting average over 3 minor league seasons. The Rainiers traded him to the River Cats in 2013 and he immediately moved into the starting lineup, hitting .345 over the remaining 69 games. Over the course of his 4 big league seasons, Laroca has a career batting average of .309, two Player of the Week awards and one Player of the Month award. Not too shabby for a pitcher who most scouts gave up on after two minor league seasons!

This league is always competitive, run extraordinarily well, and the other owners are a bunch of high class OOTPers. You won't be disappointed if you join.
