Printing Stats

I've looked all over the forum and Manuel and can't find info on how to print yearly stats in a readable format. I've downloaded the Almanac and have got it on a spreadsheet but its just a line of numbers. Can I do it from OOTP15 directly or does the XLS have to be reformatted somehow? I's less then a noob on spreadsheets. There is an option in 15 to get team stats onto a web browser but now a complete list of individuals. Thanks again and I hope all are having as much with the game as I am.

The only way I know how to do it is to select list all players from the League Menu. When that opens up , set your stats for what you want to see..Now to the right on top you'll see Report, click it and select report and it should open in your browser depending on your setting. Then print. If it doesn't open in your browser, then from the Report dropdown, select write report (you'll have to search your saved games folders to find the report), then open that in your browser and print.

I Export stats to reports which opens up a browser page. From there I copy and paste into Word or Note Pad. I do this 3-4 times a year for our online league's manual forum voting.

Here is my process.
1) From the FA screen select Show all Players.
2) Build the View that displays what you want.
3) Use the filter to rule out the players you do not want. Like Hitter's VORP above 30 or whatever your cutoff is.
4) Bottom right, select Report and Write Report to Disk. I then copy the data displayed on the HTML page, including the Headers.
5) I right click to paste in Word and select "Keep Formating" or the option similar to that.
6) Now you can manipulate it visually with Word which can do an obscene amount of things to process string data.

You may have to goof around with it for a while to get it to look the way you want but that will get you there.
You may also be able to print the HTML report and skip Word entirely.

If any of this does not make sense ask away, I hope I explained it OK.

Good luck,
Tom

PS- If someone knows a more efficient way to export stats directly to a CSV format that I can open with a text editor please post your instructions here.

Thanks alot for taking the time to explain things. I'll give it a try.

I've played a zillion games with Baseball Mogul and have the same issue. Just not sure why it has to be such a convoluted process for what appears to be a simple process. Perhaps there are good reasons or just a low priority resource-wise. But im a stat nut and playing Historical Seasons gives me even more reason to have printing capability.

I think it might be due to the flexibility that you have as to what stats to include. This makes it difficult to provide an in-program printing capability, considering the varying combinations and widths of columns of stats which could be included. And since the browser is more adept at this, it's why the developer relies upon this option.

Then again, I may not know what I am talking about, as usual.

No one else will say it, so I will. Manuel knows nothing. You have to pardon him, he's from Barcelona.
