He plays 1B vLHP. I like his defense a lot better than Suttles. I don't have Suttles' ratings right in front of me, but I also feel like Buck has better OBP skills (84 CON, 78 EYE vs LHP) and Avoid K, while Suttles has more power. My team is not a power team.

Same - I just need Averill or Coveleski...which at this point seems like it might be a wasted effort.

I cant pay 100k+ for the Averills that keep popping up, probably better to stick with the 88 Boudreau at that point.

A diamond pack special for the start of the playoffs should do a nice job getting the needed Indians/Athletics cards into the market...

It will get *some* into the market, only to have them be immediately locked because you're not going to NOT get Old Shufflefoot

While this proposal would help, it is not a solution to the issue.

My Missouri Theme Team finally completed the Royals Collection by adding in the 96 Grienke. I now have the 96 Saberhagen, 99 Wade Davis and 91 Lorenzo Cain in addition to the 96 Grienke on my team. Can't tell you if it's a positive/negative value, other than I'm extremely happy to have completed the Royals collection mission!

I logged on Monday and saw a Joe Jackson with a 60,000 BIN - the last card I needed for South Side to finish the White Sox collection. I had 56,000 and change, but three gold cards and a few silvers that I could quickly BIN.

Was able to do that, clicked on the button - and only then saw the Ted Lyons that was also available! Which, truth be told, I would have rather had because of the pitching upgrade!

Oh well. Shoeless Joe, Ol' Aches and Pains and Big Ed are now suiting up for the Lumber Company anyway...

After weeks I managed to sell the PEAK Edgar Martinez I drew during my pack opening rampage for 48k (a new record; I was very patient with the high price…), and resisted the urge to just buy more packs and instead looked at my mission selection.

Started off with a Ben Zobrist for 400 to complete the 2015 Royals and the Z Collection missions. The pack for the Z Collection was of the bare minimum sort.

Then went for the Live Rangers with Joey Gallo for 5k and Nick Solak for dimes. Gallo will get a desperate trial in leftfield given my inability to fill that spot to my satisfaction between a myriad of players. The gold pack gave me a 1980 Robin Yount, which I can either keep waiting for the Brewers collections or flick on to recoup the Gallo investment.

Have a few bids in right now, but nothing that will complete a mission. I would like to try and tackle those for the Reds, which seem to have some decent rewards and have been around for a long time, but there are still hardly any cards on the market and then for eyewatering prices.

Or maybe buy 31 packs with what I have left right now.

This morning scrambled up a few bronzes and low silvers for a few collections, mainly a 1938 Johnny Rizzo to complete the Butterfingers (OF) mission - the reward pack was the most basic product available, five live iron and a live (60) - and several low-key Reds cards, with one exception: Ernie Lombardi. He goes on the roster actually to try and shore up the void around Joe Torre.

But I am very far off here and I am afraid that the 32k I have (plus another 8k on the horizon from an impending sale) are not enough to finish any of those diamond pack missions here:

I don't think the reds are worth it. All of them require a lot of cards and there is no 150K payoff at the end, that Davis is like a 40K card.

yesterday a 74 Eckersley came on the market on open bid, first one I've seen in a week. Last 7 was like 4500, I put in a robust 6069 max, overnight it ended up selling for 12,007!!!

Today there were three copies available at 3,000 BIN

lol

Yeah that Eric Davis card is a disaster. A Perfect CF that isn't even as good as Gold Garry Maddox.

I saw that Silver Eck last night, wow. Open bids are a bit of a gamble but sometimes people get lucky on the timing.

Everything I do is apparently wrong.

But that's okay. Some people are just born as disasters.

Has anyone ever seen the 84 Loretta for the padres? I'm not convinced this card exists.

Yeah, I got one out of a pack a couple weeks ago. Sold it, but I forget what for. Does exist.

I only need 2 more for the Padres mission but can't seem to get Caminiti at a reasonable rate.

Define "reasonable rate". I have him sitting around on two of my teams...
