2 Person Online League - Help

I have been playing OOTP since version 4 (I think) and have been involved in many online leagues, but have never been the commish.

Now, my son wants to join in the fun. He wants to buy a copy and have me and him in the same league. So I want to create an online league with the 2 of us as managers and the rest controlled by AI. And I have a lot of questions.

First: How do I even start? Do I create the league first and then enable online mode?

League files: What's the easiest way to handle the import / export? Should we just email things back and forth? Or are they too big for that to be feasible?

FTP: If we went this route to transfer files, would I need my own ftp account? Or is there something integrated within ootp that allows us to use an existing ftp server? I don't want anyone else to join the league - it's just for us.

Any tips from someone more experienced would be preferred. We'll be playing using ootp 18 for now - until 20 comes out.

Help, please! Thanks!

First question, yes. Just take your offline league and set it to online. Add your son as a GM so your GM file updates. Make sure your son has the league files and accountsdata_GMs.dat, which can all be sent to him via email/google drive.

You could easily just import/export everything via email or google drive or dropbox. When he wants to send you his changes, he just sends you his team file, and you put that file in the proper folder (I think it's the import/export folder) and just import va local. After you import his file and simulate some games you then just create a new file and email it to him (probably in a zip folder). He downloads the zip, unzips it to his league folder and then the process starts all over again.
