Man, this thread is entertaining. Some drama, emotions and plenty of laughs. Two thumbs up and a bucket of popcorn...

I think you have me confused with RonCo or one of the other stats gurus 'round here. Now those guys can crank out in-depth statistical studies...

.
For instance, I could write a "Hello World" program and it would throw a critical appshell error on mgom27's computer. Would you? |

I stopped playing historical for this reason. Yes, I can play, however the amount of time I have to put in editing pitchers makes the effort unenjoyable. |

Not necessarily accurate since they cherry pick what data to use and not use as does just about everyone who does "studies".

I can't really say I've stopped playing completely, but as good as. I'm strictly an historical player, and as such have stopped all such sims. I've still been doing some test leagues, playing around with some various other formats and such to kill time, but yeah, I've stopped doing the type of sim I really enjoy.

Of course they only include data that will result in what they want. I have never heard anyone who did a study say, "Gee, I was wrong", because they always change formulas and the data used until they reach a conclusion they want. Basically they start out with a conclussion then create the formula needed to come up with something that agrees with what they set out to prove. Last edited by StyxNCa; 10-02-2009 at 11:31 PM. |

That says a lot about yourself. Ever thought that maybe others don't think this way and are actually honest with their findings? |

What happens with any other studies on any other subject is immaterial. We were discussing what has been done on OOTP. |

There's no crying in baseball, but the so-called men in this forum cry so much, it sounds like a nursery.

Someone on vacation? OOTP not high on priority list of things to do for whoever? (though I don't ever recall a patch being held up once it was ready by anyone much less a licensing partner) FWIW I don't doubt Markus or OOTP dev. that it is a license provider issue. Will we find out what really happened behind the scenes? Seems to me this would be one of the "need to know" things that businesses don't\wouldn't want out? |
