40 Man Roster Question
Hi folks, I'm brand new to OOTP baseball. I love it, what a great way to pass sometime here while social distancing.
Anyway, I'm starting my new organization, the Blue Jays, and I'm in early April. I notice that there is an arrow beside one of my minor league ball players, Elvis Luciano. I move him up to the next level. It is a move from High A to AA. He is 19 years old and I'm unaware what other type of information may be needed here??? Anyway, I noticed I was at my 40 man roster limit and I see him on it, which I assume happened when I promoted him to the 40 man roster... Why did this happen and is there a way to undo what has been done. I do not have a saved file to go back to otherwise I would do that for sure. Help me bring the Championship back to TO!!! |

I'll try to find that...I'm new. Why did he get sent to the 40 man roster thought? Maybe I didn't describe the situation to well. Why would a guy playing A ball, when I move to double A have to be on my 40 man??? Am I missing something? |

Right-click on the player's name. Should see your options.

You'll need to be in commissioner mode
If you didn't put him on, he shouldn't be. Last edited by CBeisbol; 04-04-2020 at 04:24 PM. |

He was either already there or you put him there.

There is nothing to undo, he was already there. When the Jays claimed him in the Rule V draft before the 2019 season he went onto their 40-man. They kept him in the majors for 2019 to ensure they got to keep him, and had planned to shift him back to a more normal development path (i.e. starting in A-ball) this season.

Thanks for the response, here. There is a chance Luciano was part of my 40 man from the beginning of the year and I did not notice, but, then my question becomes, why would a 19 year old kid playing low A be automatically on my 40 Man roster to start???

Read my post and look up his history. The Jays used a loophole in the Rule V draft to nab a young prospect, and then did what they had to do to hold on to him. |
